The staff of Elektron Music Machines have done an interview with John and it was definitely done this or last month, which makes it his first interview after a long, long break.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the most popular bands around. John Frusciante is not only a Pepper guitarist extraordinaire, but also an avid user of electronic instruments. His esoteric take on technology can be heard in his numerous solo recording, where guitars and machines are fused into a compelling whole.
I heard you were on vacation recently – where did you go?
I went to a three-day rave by the beach in England. Some of my favorite artists were playing and I was very happy. A great trip!Apart from making music, you also used to paint. Did your painting influence your composing?
The period when I used to paint really rewired my brain and made me appreciate my talents in music. I was seeing paintings in my head that I didn’t have a clue how to make. I mean I know the way that music is written on paper. I understand intervallic relationships and so on. The equivalent in visual arts, like perspective, I had no background in. That technical foundation helps me to combine disparate styles and to achieve what my imagination dictates more clearly than I could with painting.

....so If John took a vay-cay... does that mean the album's finished?? john seems to NEVER take vacations! It would be logically fitting to go on vacation after he finished the album~OMG!
I hope you're right ! I'm very happy to see this interview, but it's too short and too global, not any question about what he's doing or what he's going to do except those vacation...
unfortunately this interview seems more commercial than artistic....it's just an advertisement for Elektron's machines and instruments...2008 will be an album-less year
....
i cant wait for the next album... im so obsessed with john at the moment that nobody else has place in my CD player except John's solo records and RHCP stuff. i mean, its taking over my life haha. i hope that he does some shows over here in England... and makes them a little wider known than the secret ones he does. i would love so very much to see him do some of his work in a small club or venue... i cried when he did his solo songs at all three of the times i saw the chili peppers over the last two years.
