Can’t Stop is the 2nd best music video ever according to German viewers
In the middle of all The Axe Factor hype, another voting took place. It was MTV.de’s Best Videos ever and two of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ videos were nominated – Give It Away (directed by Stephane Sendaoui) and Can’t Stop (directed by Mark Romanek).
Can’t Stop did incredibly got and ended up second in the overall, behind Michael Jackson’s epic Thriller and in front of Green Day’s anti-war Wake Me Up When September Ends.
Here’s the whole top five. You can see the rest of this list on the voting’s Facebook page.
- Michael Jackson – Thriller
- Red Hot Chili Peppers – Can’t Stop
- Green Day – Wake Me Up, When September Ends
- Korn – Freak On A Leash
- 30 Seconds To Mars – A Beautiful Lie
Let’s watch it once again!
Many thanks to Green Day authority for the info, as Invisible Movement totally forgot about this. And, of course, congratulations to directors of all these amazing videos.

Awesome, definitely worthy of it's recognition.

😀 I never thought it would end up so close to the peak, same with all those other great videos. Such a pity that I missed it

Why is it mirrored?
Watching this in a low sound quality just reminded me what an awesome song this is – new sounds (mainly John harmonies) poppet out on me because of the compression.
Or maybe it's because I'm a bit tipsy at the moment 😛

I think someone else asked that last time and someone else explained that it was some odd way to avoid being found (as many of us, obviously, cannot see the "official" version due to country restrictions). I just picked the first one that I was allowed to play.

i want to add that the version in the can't stop video isn't the same as on the album
it's a bit different mixed -> you can hear it for example when you compare the bass sound of the two versions

Makes sense. The backing vocals are also notably different, as I hinted at above.

john mentioned in an interview that he wasn't happy with how some songs on the album were mixed -> the video and the can't stop single contain johns idea of how it should sound 🙂

:sigh: he looks cute in this video, I know it sounds shallow but it's so true! It makes me happpy to watch him in it, buckets over head and dancing in trash cans and hamming up guitar solos and all. I don't know if I'd vote it my top list of videos ever but it's a really nice one. And yes, John's backing vocals make the song.
