The nominees for the 2012 entrees for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame are in. After missing out on entering in 2010 when they were eligible for the first time; the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been nominated again.
The other nominees are The Cure, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart, Freddie King, The Small Faces/The Faces, The Spinners, Beastie Boys, Donovan, Laura Nyro, War, Eric B. & Rakim, Guns 'N Roses, Rufus with Chaka Khan and Donna Summer.
You too can give your opinion on who should enter, though that won't impact the official results.

The Cure is a long time favorite, and they make me so happy.
I have always loved Rufus and Chaka, she is so comfortable in her own skin.
Heart is awesome, I really think Nancy Wilson is an amazing guitar player and probably the strongest female guitarist to reach such mainstream success...yes they had a guy play a lot of the famous electric solos but she always found a way to sneak in some impressive guitar playing and made it clear it was HER band, she was always the leader and I always admired her.
Laura Nyro is fascinating, an amazing songwriter, truly one of a kind, I've loved her for quite a while.
Those are the ones I personally listen to and love. Then again I don't really love Guns and Roses but I can't argue that they don't deserve to get in, or any of the others, it is a STRONG group this year. And if the Chili Peppers get in this year, I would like Donna Summer to get in too.
RHCP and Beastie Boys are still relevant and still making great records.....I guess the Cure is still touring, but not sure when their last great record was.....
All of the nominees deserve it, but let these old people in while they can still get up and perform a bit or before they die. RHCP ain't going anywhere anytime soon, they are rejuvenated and still kicking ass. Plus, you don't want to force John to leave his house and show his face to his fans or have to play that horrible pop music that he loathes so much. Stay home and make those classics with TruthHurts and RZA.
Save it for another year, it doesn't make them any less legendary, but again, they all deserve it.

Anyways, they don't need to sell tickets for half price seeing that the tour is a huge hit so far, the band is killing it live and Josh is clearly owning his side of the stage all night long. I like John, too, but he left and RHCP lives on. I look forward to a new John F. release, but until then, I'll keep spinning I'm With You and enjoying the clips of the band live. You, little fella, can go back to your room, or cage or wherever your parents keep you and cry. cry, cry your little hateful eyes out. The Earth keeps spinning without you....
Hell yea! I totally agree...go cry in a corner and dont forget to ask mommy to change your dipey! RHCP are the bomb....BUT and thats a big BUT...I loved them more with JOHN in the band...oh he's so HELLA GORGEOUS! Lots of love to the band and mostly John!
