invisible-movement.net needs you (as always)!
Just like every 14 months, this website is raising funds to cover its hosting costs. The story is quite simple: I, the maintainer, provide my work, dedication, organisation and support, the visitors provide their kindness – all year long and, if they can, a penny or two – whenever this donation rally comes around.
For the past two years, donations were held via social networks only. However, the recent algorithm changes and increase of people using those networks appear to be making posts on this less visible in people’s feeds, so it’s now posted here as well. Sorry that this is not a news directly related to the site subject.
Summary
This year we’re not raising money for the other server’s costs, where the message board is, as an amazing, yet anonymous visitor paid for that in June and his/her donation also buffed up the scanner which is used for the site in 95% of cases – many thanks to him/her, whoever they may be!
However, there have been contests every two weeks, on the site’s Facebook page. Some kind people donated five CDs and a cassette, the rest of the prizes were provided by this website as I had some spare items from the bundle I got from the label; and now the prizes have run out, too. A total of two audio cassettes and ten CDs have been given away so far.
Where will the donations go?
– Hosting for invisible-movement.net, up to mid-January 2014
– Extension of licence for the software that powers yourforumisgluedtoasiteonfire.net up to May 2013
– Overdue monthly fees for the software that powers monitoring of the site’s social media outlets
– A template to start forming a mobile-friendly theme for yourforumisgluedtoasiteonfire.net
– Copies of some printed media missing from the site archive (if multiple, they’ll be given away, too!) – 60% done!
– Various prizes for the periodical contests held on the site’s Facebook page
– Domain name registration extension for invisible-movement.net and yourforumisgluedtoasiteonfire.net -50% done!
*Everything’s been listed in the order of priority. The crossed-out items have been taken care of with donations as of 28th November 2012.
