As bad as his voice is (and it's terrible), this Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist's whimsical noodlings win you over, after enough listenings. Add production and the rest of the band, and this would have been the best Chilis album ever. It's still great as a low-fi, underground recording that makes clear how important he is to the band's new material.
