Speed Dealer Moms’ vinyl delayed due to failure pressings + more ways to order it

For all of you eagerly awaiting the first release by Speed Dealer Moms on vinyl, you will have to wait a tiny bit more, as there was a pressing failure. The following was just posted on Planet Mu front page by Thomas. Hi Everyone. It looks like the Speed Dealer Moms release is going to be delayed slightly. The test pressings came back and were not quite up to scratch so rather than putting out sub standard audio quality it is being re-cut. I will send out copies as soon as they arrive with us. The digital release will remain the same for all those that have pre-ordered the MP3/WAV.…

FINALLY! Speed Dealer Moms’ 12″ available for pre-order!

Ever since Speed Dealer Mom’s first show was announced and their mysterios Myspace page was put up, the band that nobody’s actually heard but everyone knew would be awesome drew quite a lot of attention. They scheduled an appearance at the 2009 Bang Face Weekender on the not-so-fitting date of 26th April and their music machinery failed. They rescheduled the appearance for then-upcoming Bang Fest in August that year and it was canceled. From then on, we only had sporadic word-of-mouth news about them. But the sweet wait is finally over! ^_^ The retailer just informed me (yup, it literally happened that way!) that the FIRST SPEED DEALER MOMS TWELVE…

  • Omar Rodriguez-Lopez mentions Speed Dealer Moms in an interview

The Mars Volta’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is surely busy these days – releasing album after album, about to premier his film (that John is the executive producer of) and being interviewed pretty often. In his most recent interview for the Argentinian magazine Rockzone, dated 15th January 2010, he’s asked about working with John and he happens to spill out some words on what obviously are Speed Dealer Moms. It’s not new compared to what we were told when Bang Fest was canceled, the duo’s still working on their music and it is not known when we’ll have an opportunity to hear them. But don’t forget, this all comes from a third…

  • No Speed Dealer Moms live…at least until further notice

For the past couple of days, I received quite a lot of emails from all of you who had tickets to the Bang Fest. I am sorry that there couldn’t have been a response beforehand (and I feel quite embarrassed for having emailed the organisers twice); just imagine how it was for them – probably much harder than it was for anyone else. So, the news is: Aaron and John have decided to keep Speed Dealer Moms in the studio for now; so there will be no live show at this stage.. However, Bang Face 69 on 28 Aug will be a free event for the Hard Crew and feature…

  • Bang Fest has been cancelled

Bang Face have just sent information on the event’s cancellation to Bang Fest ticket holders. I have no idea what this means in terms of Speed Dealer Moms’ set, but as soon as it’s known, you’ll be informed. Sadly due to reasons beyond our control Bang Fest cannot take place this year. This is an extremely frustrating situation since we have our licence and the support has been so strong. We apologise for any inconvenience and will refund your ticket(s) in full over the next week. Once your card has been re-credited the money should appear back to you within 4-5 working days. However, for the Bang Face Hard Crew…

  • John with our friend Matthew, 16th July 2009

John on Speed Dealer Moms et cetera

As some of you know, Warpaint had a show yesterday at Hammer Museum and a some people who went to that show actually bumped into John who was in the audience, supporting his friends. An awesome gentleman by the name of Matthew Alexander talked to him for a bit and this photo was snapped, too. Given that this is indentical to how we found about The Empyrean a month and half before the official statement was issued; I get it that it’s OK to re-tell the details of the conversation which Matthew’d previously kindly shared on his Twitter account. Basically, John is having a lot of fun working on the…
