Update on Johnny Ramone statue revealing
This is an update on the post about revealing of Johnny Ramone’s statue, an article from Rolling Stone where John is mentioned. Several of Johnny Ramone’s friends — including Eddie Vedder, Rob Zombie, Pete Yorn, John Frusciante, Anthony Kiedis and Nicolas Cage — gathered at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Friday, January 14th, to unveil a four-feet tall bronze statue of the guitarist, who according to Cage’s speech, “willed the Ramones to happen.” About a thousand fans gathered for the mid-afternoon ceremony, to hear speeches by many of those closest to Johnny Ramone (whose real name was John Cummings), and to see the $100,000 statue, which Ramone bought himself.…

Third January update

Revealing of Johnny Ramone statue
According to Los Angeles Times and many picture sites plus some other reliable sources, the statue of the punk rock legend Johnny Ramone was unveiled on 14th January in Hollywood at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Billie Joe Armstrong is a John fan
(Thanks to funkymonkeygirl from OHG forums) In the February issue of Guitar Player, Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day singer/guitarist, talks about style, influence, direction, etc. Do you rely on any specific influences? I go for the classics-anything from the Beatles to Social Distortion. Specifically regarding guitarists, I love Steve Jones and Johnny Ramone, and I also love John Frusciante.

Second January update
Sorry that it’s been annoying 10 days without an update, your webmaster (or webmistress, as you like) is having problems with slow internet connection and desperately slow uploads. Two new articles
Yup, Happy New Year 2005, if there’s anything to wish after such a disastrous ending to 2004. Anyway.. John is featured in two magazines and thanks to peacefield and mko from Ramparts forum, here are the rough scans. Updated again
Two more reviews added, one of them thanks to Grete Three more wallpapers by me and one by Dee Dee added. And, by the way, Dee Dee is very talented and she suggested me to add some more of her wallpapers, so you will see them soon, most likely after the New Year.
