The other day, on the eve of the release of the comeback album I’m With You which was performed in its entiety and aired live in cinemas across the world and on a , the Red Hot Chili Peppers sat down with Fuse for a quick sneak-preview

  • Swahili Blonde - Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink

New Swahili Blonde album on 31st October, John’s on all tracks

Swahili Blonde’s second album, Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink is set for 31st October release, rather than 02nd October like it was originally announced. Five tracks have been posted to the project’s Bandcamp website so far. The album, unlike the previous one, will be released through Nicole Turley’s newly-founded

  • EMA

EMA would find it pretty sweet to collaborate with John

Rising star EMA (real name Erika M. Anderson) was recently interviewed by Spinner and she was asked what musicians would she collaborate with, if she was given the opportunity to choose. Is there anyone you’d like to collaborate with? I mean, it’d be cool to collaborate with whatever Swedish people made that Britney Spears record [Miike Snow], that or a hip-hop producer. John Fogerty or Meredith Monk would probably be my people that I would like to try and do something with. And John Frusciante would be pretty sweet as well. If you would like to read the entire article,

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers live at Slane Castle - screencap

Boston Herald: Frusciante – totally and completely awesome.

In response to his original post on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Boston Herald blogger Jed Gottlieb had only words of praise for John. Yes, yes, yes, the dude is awesome. Totally and completely awesome. But it wasn’t just his guitar playing that made the Peppers great. It was what he brought out of his fellow band members. Check out the clip below and watch what John and Flea can do together (damn, I should say, could do together). Flea always said that he never connected with anyone else musically like he connected with John. That’s pretty obvious from this little jam. And who are we to disagree, friends? You…

  • Chad Smith: John Frusciante best musician I’ve known and played with

In a fresh new interview with Drum Magazine, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith has only words of praise for John. This interview is far better in terms of how it was edited, so everything’s pretty clear. Looks like Drum Magazine does it a bit better than some others. Burned out by two decades of an unforgiving album-tour- album cycle, the Red Hot Chili Peppers agreed to cool it for at least a year in 2008. They walked away from the stage, the studio, and each other. Then, in the middle of the break, guitarist John Frusciante left to pursue solo work full-time. Though the move extended the group’s absence…

  • Flea & John Frusciante in 1999

Flea: John probably the best guitarist in the world

In a short but insightful interview posted on MusicRadar, Flea discusses the new Red Hot Chili Peppers, the upcoming I’m With You studio album and, most importantly, he gives more insight to John’s legacy than in any other interview prior to this. Moreover, he calls John the best guitarist in the world, which Invisible Movement pretty much agrees on and I hope most of you do, too. Here are the most interesting bits from this interview. Flea on John’s creative input in the Red Hots: At the end of the last tour, things felt very strained. And I said, ‘Let’s just take two years off.’ Because things just felt unpleasant,…

  • John Frusciante and Share "Truth" Watson, September 2010

More tidbits on John’s contribution to Truth Hurts’ new album

Short but sweet, as per Share Watson/Truth Hurts’ Twitter stream, via our friend April who was paying more attention this time: TruthHurtsInc: Yaaaaay finally downloaded the song I did with John Frusciante yaaay!!it’s world changing if I must say so myself..:-) wow.. TruthHurtsInc: He sent me another track that’s for my album…crazy guitar track…me likes a lot ;-))) #JohnFruscianteRocks You might also want to read: Share Watson, John and RZA collaborating – she’s honoured! • Total Guitar - June 2011

    Clippings – Total Guitar 06/11 and Q 07/11

It’s been a while since there’s been a feature of any kind related to John in guitar magazines, but as it’s apparently the practice of UK-based Total Guitar to tab a Red Hot Chili Peppers song every now and then, there’s a large photo, tabs to Breaking The Girl and a short article concerning BloodSugarSexMagik and how the song came to be. All of it can be found in the June issue. Click the thumbnails to go to the pages with the scans in the gallery or click here. There is a total of five scanned pages. 98412984169841998422 And the article is, as said, somewhat irrelevant and seen-it-before. There’s also…

  • RHCP - decoration

RHCP announce first album after John’s departure. What’s your say?

As it was announced via Flea’s Twitter last night and then confirmed and written by many news outlets out there, the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 10th studio album, the first one without John after 16 years, finally has a title, the release date and title & the release date for its first single as well. In case it was not clear before, Invisible Movement is not going to be covering this further, unless there are articles, TV snippets et cetera that directly mention John, contain photos or snippets, which is pretty much what’s been the usual procedure here over the last couple of years. However, as many people asked for…

  • Swahili Blonde - Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink

More new Swahili Blonde songs featuring John on guitar

While the release of the project’s second full-length has been pushed for 02nd October 2011 (which is…a Sunday?), Nicole Turley’s Swahili Blonde continues rolling out tracks on the Internet, more precisely on the Band Camp profile. They’re fresh, summery, yet spiced with a rather high dose of psychedelia and jungle. Next to John on guitar and Nicole on most of the instruments as well as the regular collaborator Laena on violin, there’s saxophone on all tracks, played by Brad Caulkins. Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink by Swahili Blonde *Thank you, Some Kind of Awesome, for the news.
