A couple more days have gone by and the media is still picking on the Billboard article about RHCP going to jam in October, during the breaks between Chad Smith’s commitments with Chickenfoot and Meatbeats. There’s nothing officially said by the rest of the RHCP after Chad Smith told Billboard they’re going back to their usual jamming in October last Friday. However, this was apparently distributed to all news agencies, as media is totally mad about it and us who get news alerts and clippings can only curse the day we were born. Michael Lang’s plans for 40-year-anniversary Woodstock go down the drain
Michael Lang, the executive producer of the original Woodstock Festival, gave up on his original wish to organise a 40-year-anniversary of the original festival and link it to the “Climate Week”, which takes place between 20th and 26th September. So, yes, in the year of recession, that’s another event that’s not going to happen. As he explained, it’s a “very tough year for this stuff”. It’s more around the issue than the date for me. For the past couple of days, I received quite a lot of emails from all of you who had tickets to the Bang Fest. I am sorry that there couldn’t have been a response beforehand (and I feel quite embarrassed for having emailed the organisers twice); just imagine how it was for them – probably much harder than it was for anyone else.
