• Kicking off the week with a special: new and improved Green Fest audio download – mp3 and FLAC

You all remember 2007, you all remember Green Fest and all 100 000 people who were there – unless someone had amnesia – want to remember it for good reasons: such a large amount of people jumping to Higher Ground, John’s unforgettable rendention of ABBA’s classic SOS; Flea’s impromptu song and much much more. My good friend Robert/hcrockso, who provides this website with enormous moral support, occasional Hungarian translations and media-related help has managed to improve the recording and now all the songs apart from those three omitted from the TV broadcast for band and band management’s undisclosed reasons, are available as a high-quality 192 Kbps mp3s for your iPod…

  • Saturday question #7: Put a name on ’em!

Welcome to the seventh edition of Saturday questions. This week, I’m asking a question originally asked on the board, by a member who goes by KGS. Short and sweet; but requiring a longer answer, I can imagine. If you were to name untitled 1-13 songs on Usually Just A T-Shirt, what would you name them? • Warpaint’s “Exquisite Corpse” + John’s involvement in recording process

This is a guest-article written by Carole la_kagol; with the goal to present the work of the band whose album John mixed to everyone who’s interested. The article is abridged and you can download the original version as a PDF file I have made by clicking here (size: 24.05 Mb, downloads so far) – on this page there’s only basic information and the excerpts of the whole piece that concern John’s involvement in the mixing process and support he gave to the band. Please, note that the PDF document contains web links that are clickable. Warpaint is a psychedelic jazzy underground band, founded somewhere between 2003 and 2006 in the…

  • A John feature in March issue of Wan2 (Hungary)

In the March issue of Hungarian magazine Wan2, there’s a 4-page feature on John, focusing on the development of his career throughout the years and, of course, The Empyrean. To read more about the magazine’s current issue, go to its website. You can see the scans on their individual pages by clicking on each thumbnail, or view the whole album here. 96519965239652696529 Here’s a teaser to keep you guys intrigued until the whole article has been translated: When a member of the band that has millions of fans is concerned; perhaps we’re wondering if he could just go to his day job and pick the remainings of work from the…

  • I-M.net’s featured musicians for March 2009 – Verna Beware and Sebastian Matar

It has been quite a while since Isabel José was crowned the very first featured musician here on Invisible Movement. Perhaps because there were too many things happening. After the embarrassing six months, it’s the time to introduce TWO features for March. Due to many people being interested, there will be two features a month in April and May as well. The first feature for March are Verna Beware. They’re a five-piece band from Santa Barbara with an unique sound and a very witty approach to their fast-growing fanbase. You can also check out their Myspace. The second feature for March is Sebastian Matar. Sebastian is a half Finnish/half Lebanese…

  • Site updates – 17th March 2009

Before we proceed onto this week’s update, I would like to thank the 13 kind people who donated money for the site and the board’s hosting accounts. The number is small because there was someone who donated almost half of the amount; but each single donation is appreciated equally. Thank you so much. This clears the site’s hosting until July 2010 and the board’s hosting until this time next year. And yes, this was meant to be posted two days ago. Sorry! Look out for a double musician feature later today or early tomorrow. Experi-mental feature in the tabs section Two sets of Polish magazine scans, from 2002 and 2006…

  • Saturday question #6: Do you REALLY believe in everything you read?

Welcome to the sixth edition of Saturday questions. The more or less absurd discussion from the last two days was a direct inspiration for this week’s question. Back in November 2008, the very subject of this website said: I’ll just write whatever I feel like saying whenever I feel like doing it. I don’t like the old media channels and this is a way of communicating to people without the filter of magazines and their bullshit that has nothing to do with music. Long ago, a friend of this website, an anti-panda superbrainsupermom, explained something in the lines of: When a press release, a magazine release, or even a book…

  • Guitarist & Bass, March 2009

John in the March issue of Guitarist & Bass magazine, France

John is on the cover of the current issue of the French magazine Guitarist & Bass and there’s an article on him, too. The tagline is Next to heaven. Here’s a translated excerpt from the article: I’m not interested in being in a band anymore; because during the last 10 years, I’ve spent more than 4 years and a half touring with a band. The Chili Peppers had to perform a huge number of concerts. To me, it represents a very long period of time time when we can barely be creative. I’ll have a show within 2 months, but it won’t be rock. I can’t say anymore about that…

  • A chance to win Bang Face weekender tickets if you create a cool banner and attend a party

If you live in UK (or can be there on Friday) and have not managed to acquire tickets for the Bang Face weekender or you have heard about John and Venetian Snares performing there way too late; there’s a chance for you to win free tickets for the event! • Site updates – 09th March 2009

Wow, at last: a “classic” update. Some of these things were meant to be parts of the last update in 2008, but they didn’t make it to it. Things got busy and the computer associated with this website graced the floor with a bunch of droppings three times in two months until it ended up retired. And January & Febuary were more dynamic than ever expected and that’s why a “classic” site update did not take place – though you probably noticed there were many updated along the way. So, here they are, bits and pieces of the first update in 2009. Enormously long, that is. There’s a lot to…
