• John is doing a Q & A on MusicRadar!

Music Radar is doing a question and answer round with John Frusciante. You can ask your questions on this page. Good luck! The interview will be published as a podcast sometime later this week. For the less tech-savvy people: that means there will be a downloadable audio file. In case you’re wondering how this works: MusicRadar’s staff member clarified that they’re going to select questions to ask John, just like they did when Chad Smith was interviewed. If you want to reveal what you asked, be my guest. I do hope that everyone’s playing nice. Many thanks to Alyssia and Leni for having passed me the info so quickly! And…

  • More ways to acquire Japanese version of The Empyrean

For everyone who is more comfortable with ordering from an English-speaking website, it appears that the Japanese version of The Empyrean is available for pre-order on EIL.com. The price is slightly scary, but that’s the way it usually goes in Europe with Japanese imports. For those who have no problems with ordering from Japan and no paranoias associated to shipping things to the other side of the world, CDJapan has it a bit cheaper (thanks to Leni for the tip!).

  • Charles Bock On “Cereal Song”

Charles Bock, the author of Beautiful Children shared his holiday playlist with New York times and one of the songs he picked and talked about was The Bicycle Thief’s Cereal Song. 14) Cereal Song, the Bicycle Thief (Bob Forrest w/John Frusciante). Of course, there also comes a time when other people can provide you with nothing, a time when a person looks into the abyss. The only God I could possibly believe in is a god of empathy. That God is very much present in this song. It was written and sung by Bob Forrest, the former lead singer for the influential Los Angeles band Thelonious Monster, and a recovering…

First of all, a huge apology to everyone for this delay, and a note that normal site updates will resume on Wednesday or Thursday. • Site updates, 01st December 2008

Invisible Movement turned four on 24th November (and curiously, the 1000th comment was also posted that day – congrats to Flo!), but there were more things to discuss that day and the day after, too. In web terms, running a website that’s always up to date, with a frightening grow rate, constant hostility kicking in from all possible angles and all possible sides of the world…it all comes down to the fact that four years is like a century. Also, the site has had more than 70 000 unique visitors during November 2008, which is quite an achievement. Thank you all for being so wonderful. Now, first of all, Feedburner…

  • Jules de Martin’s fantasy band

Jules de Martin, from the British electro-pop two member band The Ting Tings, known for their hit That’s Not My Name was interviewed by The Independent for yesterday’s issue and asked to name people who would be in his fantasy band and why. He picked John as that fantasy band’s guitarist. Guitar – John Frusciante I went to see Red Hot Chili Peppers on their arena tour recently, and every time I see John play, I just want to be able to play guitar like him. I love the video coverage of him jamming out. This guy rocks. If you’re interested in knowing whom else De Martin would include in…
