• Weekly playlist: 10th-17th December 2007.

If you’re seeing something new in the sidebar, nope, your eyes are not fooling you. This is an idea I came up with a couple of days ago and after a successful beta-test during the weekend, it’s online now: Invisible Movement’s very own weekly playlist, containing a mishmash of audio and video of John, RHCP and some more for you to enjoy. If you’re not seeing a player with a playlist underneath, you need to download the Adobe Flash Player and restart your browser afterwards. The feature has been tested on Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 2.x; but I believe it works on the most major browsers as well. I’m…

  • Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action finally goes live!

After 3 months of preparations, Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action has been through its first phase and yes, now it is online! Since there were problems reaching some translators, the action is open for whomever still wants to participate. Do not apply for Slovenian, Catalan, Persian, Estonian and Ukrainian, as translators for those languages have been found. First of all, I would like to thank my friends Milica Radojlović and Rodrigo Mondragon Chaves for the amazing idea. Rodrigo was talking about translating John’s songs ever since early this year and Milica came up with how interesting would be to translate this particular song in September and that is how the GLOBAL…

  • Site updates, 05th December 2007

There have been updates to almost all sections to the site, but I split it all in two, as it’s huge. There will be more, but before you ask for something, think of how it feels to be promotion a huge company for winter holidays and do all of their online marketing and you’ll get how good my concentration is at the moment. Oh, by the way, that also means I might be making errors here and do report them if you see them! And since this update looked huge and ugly when I previewed it, please click the link below to see it. Before you do so, a sneak…

  • Could it be another update on collaborations? Yes.

Update on the Wu-Tang collaboration The final version of The Heart Gently Weeps is available as a download; with both clean and explicit lyrics. An instrumental version will be followed on the actual tangible single CD. I somehow manage to hear it and it sounds really good, one can tell who’s on the guitar. More info on the single as soon as it is actually available. Have a look at the cover, too. You can also hear the CD and single versions of the song here. Update on the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez collaboration The nice people from N20 records have put up three short clips of songs off the Calibration album…

  • An update on collaborations yet again

Collaboration with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez The nice people from N20 records will publish short clips of “El Monte Tai,” “Calibration,” and “….is Pushing Luck” on the album’s MySpace page on Monday. It is still unclear on which track(s) John sings, though. Also, the USA release date has been confirmed to be 09th February 2008. Collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan Here’s a nice, yet somewhat confusing review from All Hiphop (as Windmill doesn’t appear with such credits anywhere). With guitars implemented in nearly half of the tracks, its’ use alternates between ominous (“Weak Spot”) and soaring (“Sunlight”). Don’t get it twisted though, RZA who produce most of the album, avoids any forced Rap/Rock…

  • Yet another pop diva joke

Jane O’Donnell of The Monitor is wondering which other people born in Queens could help a fellow Queens-born pop diva and actress Lindsay Lohan…funny enough, John is one of those five and the reason is pretty funny, not as serious as the be-a-role-model-to-Britney thing from a couple of weeks ago. 3. Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante: Mr. California spent his earliest years in Astoria, you know. And check out the names of the work he’s put out solo. Wow. Get him on board for an album title at the very least. (Nobody’s Angel is a snooze, and you know it.) Read the whole article here.

  • A not-so-birthday and global-action-related one.

Invisible Movement is three years old! Invisible-Movement.net officially turned 3 years on Saturday…although it’s technically older, as the domain name was bought on 13th April 2004. For its first three years, it has had 621 000 visitors. During this period of time, it raised from the depths to one of the most common places people visit when searching for John Frusciante-related news and media; very often the RHCP-related stuff as well. The record breaking days were those of the 2005 performance at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in UK, the centential celebration in Las Vegas, the release of RHCP’s Stadium Arcadium, time after all three shows Marian took videos at…

  • RHCP could be headlining a new festival in USA?

According to The Daily Journal RHCP could be the headlining band for the Vineland festival that would be held in Vineland, New Jersey, USA; following the pattern of UK’s famous Reading Festival. Melvin Benn, a London-based promoter, announced plans for the festival alongside Mayor Perry Barse during a press conference at City Hall on Tuesday afternoon. The funk-rock superstars could be on the lineup at a three-day outdoor music festival to be held in the city Aug. 8 to 10. Benn said the festival will be modeled on the annual Reading Festival in Reading, England, which he has helped organize since 1989. ast headliners at the Reading Festival include Radiohead,…

  • Update on recent collaborations

Collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan You Can’t Stop Me Now has been omitted from the rumoured tracklisting for 8 Diagrams, but The Heart Gently Weeps has been remastered and it’s definitely on the album. Sooo…look out for it. Collaboration with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Nice people from N20 records have been very quick to respond to the question and they found out that John is also contributing lyrics to the song(s) he’ll be singiong on Omar Rodriguez-Lopez upcoming superalbum Calibration. They also want the word spreaded, so add them to your MySpace friends! Also, the official tracklisting has arrived. It is still unknown to which songs John contributes his vocal and songwriting skills…

  • Californication or Clowniforication/Califrownication*?

Since the debate on Californication is getting pretty tough, I thought a poll on that would be suitable. You have time until the evening of 01st December to vote. If you pick the third option, please do give your input by commenting on this news item. Arguments are OK, as long as you’re keeping them polite and civilised! There’s also a forum topic about this. Sooo, let’s sum it with a simple question: what is your opinion on the Californication lawsuit? Also, I have noticed that many people come here wondering if John actually had a say in this or not. Sorry, but I doubt anyone knows the answer to…
