Site updates – 17th March 2009

Before we proceed onto this week’s update, I would like to thank the 13 kind people who donated money for the site and the board’s hosting accounts. The number is small because there was someone who donated almost half of the amount; but each single donation is appreciated equally. Thank you so much. This clears the site’s hosting until July 2010 and the board’s hosting until this time next year.

And yes, this was meant to be posted two days ago. Sorry!
Look out for a double musician feature later today or early tomorrow.

  • Experi-mental feature in the tabs section
  • Two sets of Polish magazine scans, from 2002 and 2006
  • Live photos from 2001, 2002 and 2004
  • A little book scan
  • More handwritten things
  • The first out of 2001 London shows, in mp3
  • More readers’ covers
  • More links to readers’ music pages
  • One new “normal” link

Experi-mental features in the tabs section
There’s an experimental feature in the section, but the hyphen is there because some people might end up thinking it’s mental. So…erm. Not many websites of this type are doing such things, so this is brand new. Tyler Murphy, who has created the amazing Curtains tab book, has explained me what Sibelius is all about and it turned out that Sibelius files are quite easy to display on the site. So, there’s a beta-test of this feature: three audible and printable scores for Inside Of Emptiness: What I Saw, The World’s Edge and Inside A Break. You can listen to the files and pause them, you can print them for your own reference, you can save the .sib files to the disk and there are also .pdf files available. Once the remaining tabs for this album are completed, there will be yet another tab book.

The regular .txt tabs were done by Brenton Chattin, inrime, hockers and Iago. 3 and half songs have not been tabbed yet, but they will be, soon.

If anyone would like to give Tyler a hand with this project, go to the workshop forum on the board. And, in case it is not obvious, the tabs of all kinds are welcome on this website, as well as instructional videos. The goal is to create the best possible source for musicians who look and learn the technique while listening to John’s work and we sure as heck can achieve such a goal.

Live Photography
Silvina Cifre of Argentina was so kind to share her three beautiful experiences. All of these occured in Buenos Aires, the lovely capital of Argentina, within the course of 3.5 years. People who right-click and save on every single photo, might be familiar with this particular moment in time. The little girl in the photo would be Silvina’s cousin, Yamila.

Magazine scans
Teraz Rock, July 2002
Teraz Rock, May 2006

Both of these magazine sets have been sent in by Kasia and they’re in Polish. Translations will be done soon.

Other scans
– A mid-90s handwritten notebook was sold on eBay for an unrealistic price in January. However, its seller was so kind to take a couple of photos of it and pass it on. Many thanks to the seller and to Leni who made this possible. Click here to have a look.

– A page from the French book titled Guitares et Guitaristes de Legende can be seen by following this link. Many thanks to Gizem for yet another awesome find.

Live audio
It’s been a while, but here’s yet another solo show. This time, it’s mp3-only and it’s the glorious opener of the 2001 mini-tour. Click for live inLondon, 27th January 2001. These mp3s are of rather good quality and of 192 Kbps, so enjoy them fully!

I believe many of Invisible Movement visitors are familiar with the RHCP Universe community on Myspace and Yahoo group, which used to be run by Natalia from Poland for quite a few years. Due to her studying commitment and undisclosed reasons, Natalia handed over the community to Tanya from Australia, who has spiced it up and even bought a domain for it! At the moment, the domain hosts a new and fresh fan forum, so if you want to be a part of a new friendly community, head right this way into RHCP Universe. ^_^
