  • Hear a preview of The Empyrean with bonus tracks!

It’s snowing in Belgrade and I woke up to this wonderful news from an extremely polite Japanese JF listener and I-M.net reader named Shu. So, I thought I’d share this with everyone while I haven’t even had my breakfast – if there any weird typos, gomenasai / I’m sorry / izvinjavam se / scusa. ^_^ So, if you navigate to Japanese HMV and click on the little speakers next to the song names, you can hear previews of all the songs off The Empyrean, including the bonus tracks. The interface was built on Adobe Flash Player 10, so make sure you update your installation of it, if any problems occur.…

The third part of the interview is up on the following page, together with handwritten lyrics of Ah Yom, the second bonus track which will be released on the Japanese version of The Empyrean. Tilt your heads, zoom as much as you can…and you will see one of the lines that was inscribed into the Curtains vinyl: A million ways things could be [Update: here it is, transcribed] Below the teaser, you will find an outtake from the interview given exclusively to Invisible Movement, directly continuing…

Chris Phillips talked to John about how music influences on one’s mind state and here’s what John responded. “Everything that happens has a big influence on the state of mind. • Two more new photographs on Myspace.

Two more recent photographs of John done by BLUR PHOTO (whose portfolio is great) have been added to his Myspace album. And, though I could as well say nothing about it and though it is probably not my concern, I would like to advise some people not to make such quick judgements based on two b & w photos. Some comments on the photos on Myspace yesterday were quite harsh and they sounded a bit like this, honestly. Being a person who’s learned not to make quick judgements and who panickes too much, I figured out that such quick judgements might make people feel uncomfortable. So, think about it. There’s…

  • Unreachable stream + two new photographs on Myspace

John’s Myspace page was updated tonight, too. There’s a stream of Unreachable added to the top of the songs in the music player, the song is really long, 6:11, and the instrumental part of it really does provide an unusual experience, even through mere ol’ iPod earphones. There are two new b&w images as well. As said by the officials: Unreachable is the third track off John Frusciante’s new solo album The Empyrean which comes out Worldwide on January 20th via Record Collection. Unreachable was produced by John Frusciante and features John on vocals, guitars and treatments, Josh Klinghoffer on electric piano and Flea on bass. We will not be…

  • The first part of Hillingdon Mind interview featuring handwritten lyrics of Today is UP!

The first part of an exclusive interview with John is up on hillingdonmind.org.uk. Thanks to the kindness of the interview’s author, Chris Phillips, Invisible Movement was given the right to post an exclusive teaser. I believe that this particular part of the interview will be really interesting to the writers and poets amongst John’s listeners. Why? The first par of the interview is based around the benefits of writing. Here’s what John initially responded when he was asked about it. “It’s been really good for me. I think it’s being able to see the mind from an exterior position. It’s another one of the issues that come up especially with…

  • Hillingdon Mind interview outtake in its full length

Having obtained a permission from Chris Phillips of Hillingdon Mind (many thanks!); I’m presenting you an outtake of the interview which is to be published on their respected website in December. The outtake is omitted from the final product and it is, unlike the rest of the transcript, related to The Empyrean. I sure hope you will enjoy it. Do not hesitate to leave comments, as usual! There is also a whole discussion about it on the forum. Can you describe the essence of your new album? (Long pause and a groan from John) “Ah man. I guess… yeah I don’t know if I can answer that. I find myself…

Record Collection Music just passed this to I-M.net and I do hope that it will clear up the hype generated within the past couple of hours. So, read this carefully, as his is the best news we’d read all year and a proof that The Empyrean, the album beyond physical existence, is REAL.
