Guitarist Magazine, March 2009 issue - click to order

John is on the cover of the March 2009 issue of the respected and longest-established UK magazine, Guitarist. The last time he was on the cover of this magazine, it was April 2004 (you can remind yourselves of it by looking at the scans and the article, btw!).

In the article he's discussing The Empyrean, the equipment used and comparing the album to previous releases.

You can order the magazine by clicking here or on the preview picture.

If anyone could send in scans, that would be amazing. A couple of people offered to do so, but as they're not having luck with scanners, help would be MUCH appreciated. ^_^

  2. dolfin says:

I so wish I could see this pic larger!!! I have to try and get this issue

  3. Dion says:

I have a question is it already out because I'm going to the UK tonight and I hope it's out already because really want it!!

  4. fruscianda says:

It's out, I bought it today. All the pictures inside are from 2006. That picture on the cover is beautiful! Article is good too. He talks little bit about Empyrean and the rest is about playing guitar generally. And there are definitely no plans for RHCP, he said.

    • Iva says:

Then it's just a recycled MusicRadar podcast with altered sentences. :???:

      • fruscianda says:

I don't think so. It's definitely a new interview. Some of the things he talks about he hasn't anywhere else. He says, he would like to tour, but with a proper rehearsed band, which he can't see happening right now. One paragraph is especially beautiful when he talks about music, how it is not the competition for him to be the best. I wish I would have a scanner, I would send it to you.

  5. Chris Traylen says:

in the magazine John says how Funkadelic's 'Maggot Brain' inspired him to write Before the Beginning, as a 'beginning' to The Empyrean, which I thought was pretty cool coming from the man himself. Apparently sitting up for hours with a friend with it on repeat chilling out, im not envious....much
