The Mars Volta’s fourth studio album has a haunting story behind it. John once again plays guitar on all songs, through one of the channels, while Omar Rodriguez-Lopez takes the other channel.
The Mars Volta – Amputechture
The third album from The Mars Volta. Surprisingly to many, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez plays guitar only on Asilos Magdalena, John plays both rhythm and lead throughout the rest of the album.
The Mars Volta – L’Via L’Viaquez
On Frances the Mute, The Mars Volta’s second album, John chips in the first two guitar solos on the song L’Via L’Viaquez.
The Mars Volta – Cicatriz ESP
The Mars Volta released their critically acclaimed debut LP, De-Loused in the Comatorium in 2003. While his former band mate Flea plays bass throughout it, John joins in with guitar and synth treatments on the track Cicatriz Esp.
