News on Bob And The Monster + the documentary’s director needs your help!
As reported a little more than six months ago; John – as well as Anthony Kiedis and Flea – will be appearing in a documentary film about Bob Forrest, titled Bob And The Monster. Even though it is not stated in the more revent news items, Keirda Bahruth, the director of this upcoming effort, was so kind to confirm that John will indeed be in the movie and that there was no change of plans.
A couple of days ago, a call for fans who might have some original material has been posted on Myspace.
“Bob and the Monster”, the documentary film about Bob Forrest, is currently filming and set for completion by the end of 2009. On the heels of winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for producing the documentary “We Live In Public,” director Keirda Bahruth is working on bringing Bob’s endlessly inspiring story to the world.
Currently sorting through and editing the many interviews with Bob over the years, as well as key interviews with Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Angelo Moore, Pete Weiss, Zander Schloss, Keith Morris and many many more, Keirda and her team at Shaker Films are currently seeking archival footage to bring the “non heavy metal” side of Los Angeles in the 80s and 90s alive. Photographs, film and video of the era, specifically Raji’s, Cathay de Grand, Club Lingerie, Al’s Bar, footage of Melrose, Hollywood Blvd, etc…..we’re looking for it all.
If you’d like to participate in helping bring Bob to the world and you have pictures, footage, questions, tips or all of the above, please contact Shaker Films at info@shakerfilms.com. We can make any and all things happen, there is no format too old. Thank you all in advance.
So, if you live in LA and have some material, Keirda and the team might need your help, so do not hesitate to email Shaker Films; they’re super-nice.
More info is available on the documentary’s IMDB page and a good place to learn more about Bob Forrest if you’re not familiar with his work would be his Myspace page.
