My perfect lineup for a concert? It would start with RHCP, for an hour and a half set. Then the White Stripes would play for an hour. The Foo Fighters would take up where the Stripes left off, and play for an hour. Dave Matthews band would do a set. After that all of them would get on stage at once and play something...hopefully turning into an insane jam.
I know the last part would never really happen....but a guy can dream...plus, its fictional
My setlist:
rage against the machine
red hot chili peppers
warpaint
JOHN FRUSCIANTE
only the thought of such a festival makes my crazy
but his albums makes my already verry happy
i've seen the Peppers already, but if i get a chance to see a live show of john... than i don't know, I think i can't believe it
First the supporting acts:
1. Megadeth, 2.Opeth, 3.Metallica, 4.Radiohead, 5. Green Day....each playing 3 songs only for Green Day to play two more.
And then the Chili Peppers will enlighten the stage as the headliners with a 2 hour setlist and numerous improvisations....
To wrap up the day,John would play "Anne" with an acoustic guitar.........
My Setlist:
RHCP
Manic Street Preachers
John Frusciante
Coldplay
Thomas Dybdahl
Arctic Monkeys
The Who
Michael Jackson
New Order
The Killers
Well, first of all John and the RHCP. Then John Mayer, Radiohead, and Blur. Oh, and Kispál és a Borz but I don't think anyone knows them

Okay, absolute fantasy here, but bear with me, haha.
John Frusciante starts out with an awesome acoustic set, then he would play ALL of the Empyrean. Every song. Including the bonus tracks, because they are awesome.
State Radio would play with their patented awesome energy
Zappa Plays Zappa would feature Vai, Napoleon Murphy Brock and Terry Bozzio
Jeff Beck, because he changed rock music forever and I still haven't seen him and he might die soon
Return to Forever would play a seriously energetic set, and Al Di Meola would play an acoustic set right after, then Chick Corea would do his solo stuff too
Chickenfoot would play their hearts off, with at least one sick Chad Smith drum solo, then
Joe Satriani would play on his own, and sing to us his beautiful guitar melodies
Eric Clapton would set up a few songs himself, then Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce would step up and do a few Cream songs with him
Pearl Jam would smash everyone's faces with their awesomeness,
Velvet Revolver would reveal their singer was Chris Cornell all the time and play an awesome set
Liquid Tension Experiment would play their entire second album, before being joined by the rest of Dream Theater
The Bicycle Thief would re-unite and Johnny Fru would join Josh and lay some awesome solos in there
The headliners would, of course, be RHCP with a 9000+ hour set
And for an encore, Jimi Hendrix would come back from the dead and play with them. And I would die of happiness.

The dream set- will require the UN to shift their focus from world affairs and instead to egotistical primadonnas in order to make it happen but whatever
(I belive that there shouldn't be too many bands at once- makes you unable to appreciate the music fully)
1
Funkadelic
Depeche Mode
Pink Floyd (RIP Richard Wright)
2
Queens Of The Stone Age
Oasis
Led Zeppelin
3
The Mars Volta
The White Stripes
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Other acts could include
- The Who
- The Hives
- Muse
- Jack Johnson
- Donovan
- Dire Straits
- David Bowie
- Billy Joel
- Eric Clapton
- Bob Dylan
- Queen
- Paul Simon
And many more....
As for Frusciante (solo)- I don't want to see him performing a festival- I would rather have a string of club dates with different focus (his electronic stuff, acoustic, rock-etc) and finish it up with the Empyrean in all its glory- faithfuly accompanied by Klinghoffer, Flea, the New Dimension Singers and the Sonus Quartet.
Ataxia could possibly also play at the festival, but i'd rather see them doing two nights at som club- half jam, half with their released material (not separated by which night though)
PS-
Janis - I agree with you when it comes to Walls- amazing track!
Well, if it's a festival, it would have to last all day, so i would start it with something light like John Frusciante playing an acoustic set while there is still light, for about an hour, following would be Warpaint, after that it would be nice to hear Janes Addiction, while dawn we could have the Red Hot chili Peppers for a while... then two Chili Peppers would leave the stage leaving Flea and John with guest musicians to play The Empyrian!..... finalizing in a long jam with porevious musicians.... i wouldn´t need anyhing else after that.... i'm sure it would be awesome!!
hello to everyone, specially to John... from more than 20 years fan from Mexico who went to 2 Chili Peppers concerts down here and when there was a third concert and i didn´t go........ i crashed next day to near death on the road......... Mike Negrete
Dream Fest 09
