Mellowship Slinky in B-Major tabs in Total Guitar, June 2010 issue
As it was noted in the previous news item, British magazine Total Guitar has something new for all the musicians amongst you, especially those who like their tabs accurate. It’s four pages of guitar and bass tabs for Mellowship Slinky In B-Major off BloodSugarSexMagik. John and Flea are both on the CD cover and on the introduction page for the tabs.

Here’s a teaser:
One of the most challenging features of Frusciante’s guitar part is the ‘swung’ 16th note groove that’s present throughout. This means every pair of 16th notes has a slight shuffle, where the first note lasts slightly longer and the second is shorter. This swing groove underpins the whole track – you’ll get a feel for it as you listen to the drums and bass on the backing tracks.
Many thanks to Rebecca of The Chili Source for getting the magazine. Please, do order the actual magazine or get it at your local dealer/news stand for full quality and the CD with instructions, demonstration and backing tracks.
