Letur-Lefr EP in July, PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone LP in September!
And, as if it’s not enough, there’s a wonderful letter from him and information on both Letur-Lefr EP and another, bigger piece to come later in the year, a LP titled PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone. This year is going to be a banquet for everyone who loves John’s music!
Letur-Lefr was pushed a week back, so while Japanese friends will get to have and hold it a week earlier (4th July), it will be released on 16th and 17th July, depending on where you live. The album features a couple of guest MCs.
Here’s the track listing:
- In Your Eyes
- 909 Day
- Glowe
- FM
- In My Light
PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone will be released on 24th/2th September (12th in Japan) and it was recorded in 2011. It’s very different from Letur Lefr and there’s only one guest artist. A link to pre-order it will be available in August.
All of the above will be preceded with the free download of the song named Walls and Doors, which is, according to the maestro himself, feels better when on its own; but it is more similar to the style of PBX.Both of the albums feature JF playing all the instruments (hear that, paranoid commenters?) and he engineered everything as well. As previously hinted, in addition to all of the stated beforehand, he designed the cover art for both of the albums.
And how does the new music sound like? According to John himself, there’s only a vague definition to it, which makes what Omar Rodriguez-Lopez said earlier sound rather accurate!
I consider my music to be Progressive Synth Pop, which says nothing about what it sounds like, but does describe my basic approach. I combine aspects of many styles of music and create my own musical forms by way of electronic instruments.
You can read more about all of this, together with the first letter from JF in almost 2.5 years on the official site. Letur-Lefr can be pre-ordered already, use this link for USA and deluxe bundle orders and this link for CD/vinyl orders for the rest of the world. Once you’ve preorder the EP through the official site, one of its songs, Glowe, will arrive to your inbox, free of charge. Make sure you check your spam and junk folders and enable links in your e-mail client.
