Following on from two solo albums and one by band-project Ataxia, Frusciante's new work bears more otherwordly folksy influences from the funk-pop of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Frusciante's prolific solo work veers on the pretentious and he really hasn't got that much to say lyrically.
