John Frusciante was seemingly bound to end up like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison; a lot of talent, but an ever greater desire for dope. Therefore: dead soon.
But the American guitar player managed to get away from the wide-opened gates of hell. He returned to the Chili Peppers and has even been busier than ever before. Busy indeed. The last couple of months he released about 5 records, Inside Of Emptiness being one of them.
The budget obviously hasn’t been in put into an expensive recording studio. The CD sounds like Frusciante and his mates are just messing around in some rehearsing space, with a taperecorder playing in the background.
So all audio freaks can stop reading now. Who’s into guitar rock in its purest form, will adore Inside Of Emptiness.
The record shows that Frusciante found back the joy of making music. Which makes the CD extra special.
