Site Help

Here are some more complicated topics people have asked help with recently. If you, however, need help with the forum and not the site, read this. Also, if you're 100% sure that your question has not been answered here, please contact me or leave me a message at the BBS and I will do all I can to try and help.

Is this John's official site?
No. John currently doesn't have an official site, his blog has been deleted as well. You can go there; but there's nothing apart from his official statement on leaving the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

But..if so, who maintains this website and why?
It doesn't matter who I am and I don't know why I'm maintaining it, either.

Does John visit this site?
May you the succeed - I am little tiny bird - though am ugly I am gentle - may I use your ninja? May the breeze bring you the tenderness and warmth from me far from each other we may be. Yet you are still here, at the bottom of my HEAT.

New discovery to be kept secret from others. This discovery is a secret. I can lay it down because I am correct. We will not make you sorry. Please to have the real thing. I really longed for this. (Of course you can write your own sandwich also demonstrate.)

Then, where can I get John's autograph?
There is no fan-mail address, as far as I know.

Does this site have a forum?
Yup, and it's located on another domain, YourForumIsGluedToASiteOnFire.net. Feel free to join.

There was a more or less secret show and I was not informed. Isn't a fanclub obliged to inform me?
Please, read the text on this page. This web site is not an official fanclub (or any other kind of a fanclub, for that matter) and if I or anyone else happen to find out about a secret show, it's a matter of luck. Also, I do not live in Los Angeles or anywhere in USA and therefore I might not be able to give you an inside scoop you'd expect before I find someone who can help out. Oh yes, this too: be aware that John quite often joins other musicians on stage because he was in the crowd and they simply invited him to join. How can someone predict such things, really?

The calendar page is blank! So is its excerpt on the front page!
That means there are no scheduled events at the moment.

Why can't I see that photo of John in front of the XYZ hotel I once saw in an image search somewhere?
Following a simple, yet unwritten rule that this site was made for a human with feelings and not an inflatable doll, this site does not contain anything that's WAY TOO MUCH related to John's private life or any paparazzi pics which are crossing the line and are in someone-is-breathing-behind-my-back style. If you have seen e.g. a site about all of Angelina Jolie's children or a site which main headline was how a this or that actor or actress "was seen jogging with their dog and he/she looks great", you'll get the idea. Who cares about someone's last night at the restaurant, how they went to pee 'round the corner because they couldn't keep it in and if their wife has curly or straight hair? This is no Big Brother.

Why some sites' banners have a permanent place in the footer?
Those websites deserve special mention. They belong to important acquaintances of Invisible Movement; three of which are close friends, from three different continents.

I'm a Mozilla Firefox user and I have a problem with downloads.
Just give a proper name and extention to the file you downloaded and it will work. Or use a download accelerator plugin. This bug is rather bizzare.

I did all you said, but the file won't open.
Perhaps the server had a brief hiccup while you were downloading the file. Please, re-download the file. Also, make sure that you have a required program to open the file on your computer. In the case of media files, double-check your prefered media player's update server for codecs.

I don't see the playlist or any other embeeded audio or video on the site.
You need to download the latest version of Adobe [formerly Macromedia] Flash player. Head over to the Flash download centre on the Adobe website.

I'm a member of the BBS, but I cannot log in!
There might be more than one reason for this.

- First of all, if you have just registered, perhaps I have not validated your account yet. There is a two way validation: you have to click the link in your email inbox first and then I have to approve you from the administration backend as well. If you did not get the validation email, tell me and I'll see what I can do.

- If you signed up with a fake email address, you won't be approved because the system requires you to verify your email before you've been approved. Look in your junk/bulk/spam folders for the validation request email, just in case your filters have gone gaga.

- Also, your username and password are case sensitive. If you registered as Peter, you cannot log in as peter.

If you continue to experience problems you might like to think about carrying out some standard housework on your computer, including clearing out cookies, clearing your temporary internet files and internet cache etc. If that doesn't help, a visit to your ISP's website should be able to give you more assistance.

I posted a comment, but it did not appear on the site!
First-time comments are always moderated. Same goes if you comment with a different name or a different email address than before. There is no need to submit your comment for the second time, unless the page timed out upon replying. There is also a chance you broke the comments policy.

I get a "fatal G2 error" every now and then.
Just refresh the page and it should all work fine. It's a gallery-related problem.

Why are some pages protected with a password and where can I get that password?
Those pages are under maintenance and the site owner is the only person who knows the password. Basically, you aren't missing anything, just wait for them to be up again.

The site looks bad and my screen resolution is 800x600.
Just like many other websites, Invisible Movement no longer looks the way it should in 800x600. The most monitors support 1024x768 as the default screen resolution, so switch to that. Oh, and bigger is even better.

The site looks bad and my browser is Internet Explorer 6 or lower.
Please, upgrade your browser to a newer version. Same goes for older versions of other browsers. PNG transparency, valid CSS and some other things function best with newer browsers. Not even to mention security improvements.

Sometimes, when I enter the site; I get an Internal Server Error.
Such errors are caused by the server overload and they're usually gone after a couple of minutes.

Sometimes, when I enter the site; I get a notification that it was suspended.
This can be caused by server overload and too many requests as well. In such case, the site should be back at midnight GMT (GMT, not BST!)

Are you sure that [insert content here] can be used on this site?
This is a non-profit making, voluntary web presentation for listeners. If there is content on the site which anyone as a copyright owner feels is in violation of their rights, then please do not hesitate to email me and I will endeavour to rectify the situation as soon as I possibly can.

Why Invisible Movement? Why not some other song name? Why not something with John’s name?
Invisible Movement has been my favourite song by John Frusciante even before I actually heard it. The first time I stumbled upon a website on his solo work (I believe that was frusciante.de), I was reading the lyrics to the songs and I was stunned by the beauty of Invisible Movement. At that time, John had released "only" three solo albums and the internet album. Later on, as John was publishing more and more albums, I got into other songs, but Invisible Movement will always be the most important one for me. I apologise if this answer was too personal.

Will Invisible Movement have photos, media and a report from this or that concert?
I cannot promise anything. Everything depends on the nice people I find, those I can count on or those who are willing to help. Also, bear in mind that some 2001 photos surfaced only in 2006 and there are similar situations with some audio and video material.

The site you linked has illegal downloads...
Invisible-Movement.net is not responsible for the contents of linked sites, as said in the disclaimer. I cannot monitor everything I have linked all the time.

The link to this or that website does not work.
The linked site might be down or it might have been removed.

I noticed a mistake over there...
If your source is more reliable and you can prove it, I will gladly update the information.

I noticed a spelling/grammar mistake over there...
English is not my native language, so errors are possible. Tell me about the mistake and I'll fix it. Mistakes are also very often made by contributors and articles' authors. It's not always me.

Can I use the John biography you wrote?
Only if you ask me beforehand. A magazine stole something I wrote in 2007 and it wasn't pleasant, so I prefer being asked. The other problem is the fact that everything ever written on the subject might NOT be 100% true, so it's probably a better idea not to write a bio at all.

Can I use [insert person's name here] photos on my site?
You'll have to ask them, not me.

I have a lyrics/mp3/auction site and I would like to put my banner here!
Sorry, but I'm not accepting any commercial link exchanges. Amazon recommendations are another thing, since they're also helpful.
