John on Speed Dealer Moms et cetera
As some of you know, Warpaint had a show yesterday at Hammer Museum and a some people who went to that show actually bumped into John who was in the audience, supporting his friends. An awesome gentleman by the name of Matthew Alexander talked to him for a bit and this photo was snapped, too. Given that this is indentical to how we found about The Empyrean a month and half before the official statement was issued; I get it that it’s OK to re-tell the details of the conversation which Matthew’d previously kindly shared on his Twitter account.
Basically, John is having a lot of fun working on the Speed Dealer Moms project with Aaron Funk. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like the promotion and economic side of music, so that’s why the Speed Dealer Moms don’t have any record plans so far. Also, he’s been playing around with his synths lately and making fun electronic music. He’s making music he wants to make, not what everyone else wants him to make. But he doesn’t think he’ll be selling any of it.
So, that’s the second-hand story. If any of the sentences isn’t 100% the way it originally was, I hold no responsibility and do not flame me, please. I thought that a little bit of unofficial news, given the lack of any official news and walking in the dark would cheer everyone up; plus there’s a photo.
