KROQ’s Greatest Guitar Player In Alternative Rock Poll
World-famous KROQ radio is choosing the greatest guitar player in alternative rock and 25 guitarists are up to be voted for.
11 of the following guitarists who get most votes will be listed in the final top 11 on Monday, 24th September:
Billie Joe Armstrong, Dan Auerbach, Matt Bellamy, Jerry Cantrell, Stephen Carpenter, Kurt Cobain, Billy Corgan, Brad Delson, The Edge, Mike Einziger, John Frusciante, Johnny Greenwood, Tom DeLonge, Adam Jones, Daron Malakian, Johnny Mar, J Mascis, Mike McCready, Thurston Moore, Tom Morello, Dave Navarro, Mike Ness, Kim Thayil, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Jack White.
Here’s how the editorial described and praised John:
John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Inventive and eclectic, Frusciante’s wild blend of playing styles and emotive phrasing has made him of the alt-rock’s most respected and beloved ax-slingers.
You can vote on the KROQ website. The poll might take a while to load if you’re using a mobile device. Since it’s a multiple choice poll, you can pick three of your favourite guitarists.
If you’re on Twitter, you can simply vote by putting the names of the guitarist(s) you’re voting for in a new tweet and use the hashtag #GuitarKing and your votes will be counted. Or – even better – you can vote in both places.
