John Frusciante, “Curtains” (Record Collection): This is the sixth in a series of predominantly acoustic albums recorded last year by Frusciante, the off-and-on Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist. Although critics pegged Frusciante’s solo releases in the ’90s as inaccessible and unfocused, this music is rife with emotion and experience.
