John Frusciante is set to release “The DC EP” next month, the latest in his series of solo albums.

The Chili Peppers guitarist has released two solo albums this year, “The Will To Death” and the Ataxia album ‘Automatic Writing’ recorded with Joe Lally (Fugazi) and Josh Klinghoffer.

“The DC EP” is set for release on September 13 and consists of four new and exclusive new tracks entitled ‘Dissolve’, ‘Goals’, ‘A Corner’ and ‘Repeating’. Recorded in Washington DC at Inner Ear studios – where Fugazi and many other Dischord label artists record – Frusciante worked with drummer Jerry Busher (French Toast, The All Scars) with Fugazi’s Ian MacKaye on production duties:

“It was interesting for me to leave the production-type ideas to someone else”, recalls Frusciante. “Even though we recorded and mixed four songs in two days, it was a very relaxed session and more like a vacation than work. Ian is one of the main living people who I really respect and look up to, so it was an honour and a pleasure as well as a great learning experience to hear his perspective”.

The next releases from the Record Collection series will be ‘Inside Of Emptiness’ and ‘A Sphere In The Heat Of Silence’.
