DC EP, recorded and produced at Washington, DC’s legendary Inner Ear Studios with none other than Don Zientara and Ian MacKaye, is possibly John Frusciante’s most “accessible” work yet. Four songs, guitar / bass / drums recorded minimalistically, succinct melodies, great tunes without ever having to reach toward studio trickery or technical prowess. Naturally engaging, it’s almost impossible to resist its ability to organically take over your heart. Think the most melodic and soulful moments of The Will to Death and you’re there. A great place for any newcomer to start digging into this talented man’s treasures.
