Perry Farrell – Rev
Album: Rev
Release date: 09th November 1999
Label: Warner Bros record
Medium CD, cassette, digital
Supposedly in order to get out of his contract with Warner Bros Music and sign with a different label, Perry Farrell released an album titled Rev, mostly containing remixes of Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros’ songs. However, on the title track and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”, Farrell perthe solo artist.
John is credas well asar on the title track, the lead guitarist being Tom Morello, but apparently, his actual input in it was minimal. In an interview with Italian magazine Tutto, March 2001 issue, he said:
“I was contacted to play on Perry Farrell’s album, I accepted it, but nothing was done about it yet. Before I returned to RHCP, I was recording with Perry, but only one note can be heard that comes from my guitar, it was overdubbed by the guitar of Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine! Perhaps I was invited solely to play that note the way I did.”
