Welcome to the 11th edition of Saturday questions.

After last week's excursion into "what if"; we're back to music this time. Since next weekend's updates on the site will depend on team work and collaborations a lot, the event people will be reporting from will depend on team work as well; since so many things in life depend on team work, this Saturday, we're focusing on team work...on duets, in particular.

What are your favourite duets?
Which people would you like to duet and why?

  1. paige says:

i dont know if its technically a duet, but the version of Hole's "Asking for It" featuring Kurt Cobain is chilling

  2. Igor says:

Extreme - More Than Words..... a great song!
John Frusciante & Josh Klinghoffer - Omission :)
Coldplay feat. Michael Stipe - In The Sun
And I must add those Moulin Rouge duets, sung by Nicole Kidman and Evan McGregor, they are fascinating.

Which people would I like to duet and why?
-Jack Johnson & Vanessa Carlton (on back vocals) - or opposite :P ***because they have great laidback vocals
-Lenny Kravitz & Dave Grohl ***that would be mad!
-Imagine Pearl Jam with Anthony Kiedis on vocals! xD

    That's it :)

  3. Bojana says:

The song from the latest movie about James Bond was very interesting: Jack White & Alicia Keys!

  4. shalhevet says:

tricky and john frusciante- wonder woman

red hot chili peppers and foo fighters- that would be awsome!
john frusciante and mettalica- kirk and john will blow people's mind!
john frusciante and jimmy page- just the thought about it is brilliant!

    • kevin says:

didn't the Foo Fighters tour with the Peppers? They were together in the Off The Map DVD.

  5. Balzary says:

John Frusciante of course.. the next one is a bit harder.. :P I think someone with a dark voice, John frusciante omn "one more of me"

so John Frusciante and John Frusciante on "one ore of me" xD
or John Frusciante and Brandon Flower (The Killers)

  6. mADAMe says:

My favorite duet is (most recently):

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez & Ximena Sarinana Rivera

i saw her performing with the ORL-Group and her singing was amazing! It would be awesome if they would release an album together. her singing on "How To Bill the Bilderberg Group" or "Las Flores Con Limon" is so beautiful. i'm listening to the bootlegs from the show all week and just can't get enough.
some fans were afraid she becomes some kind of a "yoko ono" for omar, but she turned out the coolest addition you could possibly exspect.

my biggest wish for a duet would be.....hmm...

    either Radiohead and John :)

    or Omar Rodriguez & Buckethead.

oh and i'm curious about the coming collaboration between john and vsnares.

  7. ectogasm says:

An interesting idea for a jazz duet might be Diana Krall and John Wetton, both have amazing voices.

Far as straight-up performance I still would like to see Mike Einziger (Incubus) and Frank Zappa. A duet solo with those two would be all I need to live for a few years.

Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and John Frusciante (duh), just because I think those two could come up with some really amazing stuff.

Hmm, Bill Bruford(King Crimson, Earthworks, Bill Bruford Band) and Danny Carey(Tool, Pygmy Love Circus) would be an awesome drum duet.

Robert Fripp (King Crimson, Giles Giles & Fripp, League of Crafty Guitarists) and Larry Lalonde (Primus, No Forcefield) would be an amazing guitar duet as well.

    • mADAMe says:

yeah, robert fripp + larry lalonde would be sick!

    • ectogasm says:

Oh hell I forgot my favorite duets that have been recorded.

David Bowie and Bing Crosby- White Christmas

Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters- Tonight You Belong to Me (From the movie "the Jerk")

Orson Welles and Frozen Peas- Frozen Peas (That counts right?)

Otis Redding and Carla Thomas- Tramp

Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan- Baby Its Cold Outside

      there, so now thats done.

  8. mery says:

hmm... John Frusciante & Eddie Vedder :P ?

  9. chickenbot says:
