• Another outtake from the Hillingdon Mind interview

Once again thanks to Chris Phillips, here is another exclusive outtake of the Hillingdon Mind interview with John, two part of which are already available ar hillingdonmind.org.uk. This outtake continues on the second part of the interview, but is omitted from the final version and kindly given to this website by its author. In music this idea is being express, and by the end of the song there’s every element of the music that has been doing something, is constantly at a different number than other things, and to top it off depending on where a musician puts something- in relationship to where the other musician puts something- these things…

  • A demonstration of John’s guitar exercise…

Adam (surfsunadam from the board, who’s also tabbed Unreachable) has recorded a video where he’s explaining John’s now-famous exercise for brain and hands. As I assume many people will be interested in this, here it is, it’s brilliant! [flash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inxeI6Yovns] Please, go to the video’s page to see a detailed explanation of what Adam was doing. If anyone else did a similar thing, you’re more than welcome to show it off here.

  • Second teaser for the Hillingdon Mind interview

The second part of an exclusive interview with John is up on hillingdonmind.org.uk. Thanks to the kindness of the interview’s author, Chris Phillips, Invisible Movement was once again given the right to post an exclusive teaser. If you missed the first bit, click here. Chris Phillips talked to John about how music influences on one’s mind state and here’s what John responded. “Everything that happens has a big influence on the state of mind. Our senses are constantly being bombarded with all kinds of things that are making a constant change to what goes on inside of us. We have so many tendencies that have been put in place by…

  • Two more new photographs on Myspace.

Two more recent photographs of John done by BLUR PHOTO (whose portfolio is great) have been added to his Myspace album. And, though I could as well say nothing about it and though it is probably not my concern, I would like to advise some people not to make such quick judgements based on two b & w photos. Some comments on the photos on Myspace yesterday were quite harsh and they sounded a bit like this, honestly. Being a person who’s learned not to make quick judgements and who panickes too much, I figured out that such quick judgements might make people feel uncomfortable. So, think about it. There’s…

  • Invisible Movement is now on Twitter

Given that the server can go down for various reasons – from overload to unoptimised database tables; and that the RSS feed and email notification aren’t a guarantee that you’ll receive all the updates, due to the enormous traffic on the site these days, I have created a Twitter account for Invisible Movement. In case you’re not familiar with Twitter, it’s basically a free service that lets you post short status messages and it is also very reliable. Basically, whenever there’s a new post in the news blog, I will post on Twitter. Whenever the site or the board aren’t accessible for whatever reason, I will post on Twitter. Feel…

  • Unreachable stream + two new photographs on Myspace

John’s Myspace page was updated tonight, too. There’s a stream of Unreachable added to the top of the songs in the music player, the song is really long, 6:11, and the instrumental part of it really does provide an unusual experience, even through mere ol’ iPod earphones. There are two new b&w images as well. As said by the officials: Unreachable is the third track off John Frusciante’s new solo album The Empyrean which comes out Worldwide on January 20th via Record Collection. Unreachable was produced by John Frusciante and features John on vocals, guitars and treatments, Josh Klinghoffer on electric piano and Flea on bass. We will not be…

  • Another beautiful thought for the day…

…for all of you who don’t check John’s blog that often or are too lazy to do so: he’s just posted a new entry[1], revealing details on The Empyrean being a story with no action in the physical world. [1] I most sincerely apologise if this news item pings that blog entry. It’s actually considered to be polite because that way one person lets the other person know that their writing was linked, as described here. Thanks.

  • The first part of Hillingdon Mind interview featuring handwritten lyrics of Today is UP!

The first part of an exclusive interview with John is up on hillingdonmind.org.uk. Thanks to the kindness of the interview’s author, Chris Phillips, Invisible Movement was given the right to post an exclusive teaser. I believe that this particular part of the interview will be really interesting to the writers and poets amongst John’s listeners. Why? The first par of the interview is based around the benefits of writing. Here’s what John initially responded when he was asked about it. “It’s been really good for me. I think it’s being able to see the mind from an exterior position. It’s another one of the issues that come up especially with…

  • (It seems that) The Empyrean can be preordered…

It looks like Record Collection Music store’s John section was updated with prices of The Empyrean CD and LP which are now available for pre-order. There also are bundles containing of a LP or a CD + a men’s or women’s T-shirt. Everything else, apart from the posters and vinyls of Curtains and AWII seems to be back in stock, too. Many thanks to Travis for the heads-up!

  • Johnny Marr on The Empyrean and working with John

As posted on Johnny’s official website, JMarr.com: Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has recruited Johnny Marr to play on his latest solo album. “The Empyrean” is due out in the US on January 20. This will be Frusciante’s tenth solo album. Johnny: “I was really happy that John and I got to do something together. We first hung out in Mexico City and then I went over to his studio in L.A when I was in town on the Modest Mouse tour.” Many thanks to Gizem for the heads-up.
