Security alert/indentity forwarding

This site was vandalized 2 hours ago (around 8 AM GMT +1), the front page was replaced, someone hacked into the administrator account as well as some other accounts in other places and sort of stole webmaster’s indentity. It turned out that someone also hacked into message board members’ private login information.

If someone’s claiming to be me somewhere online and to know things about me or anyone else associated with Invisible-Movement, it’s NOT me, check the IPs. According to the logs on the server and a log on a friend’s board, people from 4 different countries are currently pretending to be me for whatever reason and I had to change all my online passwords as well as reconfigure this website, which would’ve been gone if there wasn’t a daily backup option.

If you’re receiving abusive, sick or whatever similar email coming from an email address associated with this website or containing my name, it’s NOT me and it’s NOT Invisible-Movement.net. Someone was/is doing relying of email aliases and phishing/spoofing; using online proxies to pretend they’re from someplace else, et cetera. The one who broke into the site core and deleted my mail box was reported to have gone in from a Thailand proxy, which is absolutely ridiculous.

If you as an Invisible-Movement.net board member, newsletter subscriber or a guestbook poster were a victim of the indentity thieft/privacy invasion together with me in this case, Invisible-Movement.net is apologising. The site has been made secure now, I am getting a firewall program today which will prevent people from pretending they’re me, doing things in my name and other people’s names.

Board members are recommended to change the passwords associated with their email addresses and their board usernames, among them three contributors who emailed me recently regarding publishing of their material. Once again, I had to do the same. So far, 12 people contacted me to complain that they were spoofed in the past month, one of them had somebody try to break into their bank information.

Thanks for reading this and I hope this doesn’t stop anyone from coming to the site which has, once again, been reconfigured now and everything is safe.
