(as per Stuff.co.nz)

Tickets for the band’s show on April 21 at Auckland’s Vector Arena went on sale this morning at 9am, and a second performance on April 22 at the same venue was announced an hour later.

Publicist Bridget de Launay confirmed earlybird tickets to Visa cardholders for each show sold out within hours. The rest of the tickets to the 12,000 capacity concerts go on sale to the public at 9am on Monday, March 5, she said.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, fronted by Anthony Keidis, last played New Zealand in 2002, including sold-out dates in Christchurch and at Western Springs in Auckland. Their last album Stadium Arcadium reached No. 1 on the New Zealand charts, and was the highest-selling album in 2006.
