Weekly playlist: 16th-22nd January 2008.
After one week break because of holidays and because the videos from Green Fest were deserving more attention than anything else ever put on Invisible Movement (partial patriotism of some sorts, sorry!), the weekly playlist is back and this time there were some requests and one of the items is on the list for a pretty much special reason.
Here’s a brief list of what’s on. To read more about it and see where you can get the last one if you liked it, click the “continue reading” link.

- 2004, 05th June: End Jam
- 2002, ?: Viva interview

- 2006, 24th November: Your Pussy Is Glued To A Building On Fire (it requested itself!)
- 2006, 05th November: John and Flea jam with Omar
- 2005, 24th April: Part of the ATP end jam
- 2001, 13th February: Someone’s

Something requested:
Wet Sand live in San Diego on 22nd August 2006…as per Benhood’s request and thanks to Michael Johns for recording it. If you have not checked Michael’s photos from that show in the last year and a half, what are you waiting for? Click here!
Something from another planet:
Many people agree that one of the wildest, craziest, most energetic RHCP jams ever (if we’re counting professionally televised shows) would be the one at the 2004 Rock am Ring Festival at the Nürburgring in Germany. Perhaps the 300 km/h of the Nordschleife or the possible existance of ghost of the past times in the castle inspired John to give everyone the ride of their lives? If you don’t know what I’m talking about…just sit and enjoy.
Something yellow:
The file added to the videos section on the previous update is now available as a lightweight watch-only version for the playlist, so let’s copy and paste what I said: in ain interview with Viva TV, John is talking about making of By The Way and even about the Brown Bunny songs, as well as connection between music and mathematics. Thanks to Helena for the video.
Something sentimental:
The story of Road Trippin? Aha. Told back in 2000, by the maestro himself, in a very serene surrounding, somewhat suitable to what he was talking about. If you ever wondered what inspired the riff and the bridge of the song or if you were too young to follow it all as it was happening, now you’ll know.
Something…:
This was not planned to be on a playlist in near future, but I went for it anyway. It’s Kerstin Rackow’s recording of Your Pussy Is Glued To A Building On Fire from 24th November 2006 in Hamburg.
Something (un)expected
Jam with Omar Rodriguez from the 05th November 2006 show in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, as recorded by Theodora Mouzakis. There are more videos from this show waiting to find their place in the site’s video section, this is just the beginning, as this one is probably the most interesting one. The sound is not the best ever, but the sight is sooo worth it!
Something bohemian
Long-time visitors to Invisible Movement might remember this one and its two file-brothers. This is the best and longest out of three bits of the end jam at the 2005 ATP festival, recorded by Kim Holloway on 24th April that year. Let’s see if the newer appreciators can indentify all the people in the clip!
Something slightly funny
A song from the 2001 solo tour…Toronto show, precisely. It’s Someone’s, which means that John had to check if the echo machine works well. The way he’s checking it is what makes the beginning of the song slightly funny, even a bit naughtly. Of course, don’t overlook the beautiful singing that comes afterwards, after all it’s one of the songs with the best lyrics.
Something interesting
Another thing added yesterday: guest appearance at a Pearl Jam benefit show in Santa Barbara. John was there as one of the special guests, and during the 2nd encore, he joined the band on guitar for two Ramones’ covers. One of them is I Believe In Miracles, which is featured on the playlist this week.
Something simply STUNNING
Isabel José, a 22-year-old beautiful woman from Sweden, partly of Portugese origin; has a rather simple, yet such a meaningful motto: Music is born thru emotions.. About seven months ago, she sent me her cover of John’s The Days Have Turned and I agreed with a mutual friend that she has one of the most beautiful female voices in the world. And I stick by it and that is why she’s on the playlist this week. Please, do check her own songs as well, over there on her MySpace page, you won’t regret it.
