Site updates, 15th January 2008
I’m sorry for the downtime on Sunday and bandwidth problem on Monday; the hosting company was upgrading some things and I believe there was an issue with the bandwidth measuring device, but I’m not 100% sure.
Also, I have been told that the better versions of Green Fest clips are out of synch (thank you, Veljko Simović!); so expect those to be updated soon. Not today though, as both that and the playlist are delayed due to the yesterday’s bandwidth screwup and my work obligations for this day. Thanks for your understanding, the playlist with some of your wishes on it is due sometime tomorrow and the videos are due as soon as I’ve fixed the problem.

Magazine scans
Guitar Player, April 1990 – another oldsk00l gem with some guitar playing examples included. In the interview John and Flea are talking about how John got to be in the band, the well-known RHCP attitude of the past and their gear. Explaining where the band’s music comes from, a 20-year-old John is explaining how the RHCP’s music is picking up the spiritual aspects of everything about being alive, from having sex to taking shit. A very unusual read nowadays. Of course, if anyone’s willing to type this out, help is more than appreciated. And, once again, kudos to Giz for having found this.
The 2001 mix was created and there’s a little newspaper cutting from a French magazine inside, describing the 03rd February 2001 solo show at La Scene (a translation would be great).
The 2004 mix was updated with two new bits from the local press that I remembered I had.
The Time Out September 2004 article was updated, as I figured out there was an exciting magazine cover as well.
Also, I am in the process of updating the descriptions of the galleries in the 2004 and 2005 live photography sections, sorry that it took so long.

And now for something completely different and a new audio subpage: John performing on other musicians’ concerts, starting off with his guest appearance at a Pearl Jam benefit show in Santa Barbara. John was there as one of the special guests, and during the 2nd encore, he joined the band on guitar for two Ramones’ covers. Check it out!

A bunch of album reviews have been added, so check out TinyMixTapes reviews of SCWP and TWTD; and Babysue review of Smile. One of them is really bad, which makes it interesting, actually.

Thanks to Helena, a very nice video interview done by Viva TV in 2002 is now available in the 2002-2004 interviews section. John is talking about making of By The Way and even about the Brown Bunny songs, as well as connection between music and mathematics.
New search possibilities
Now it is possible to search everything, not just news items. The system was updated with an add-on that allows you to search magazine articles, album pages, lyrics and, in near future pages on equipment, gigography and tabs. The only thing the search possibilities do not apply to is the gallery but, as you all know know, gallery has its own search function. So, search-maniacs, this one is juuuuust for you!
