Site updates, 04th February 2008
Yup, it happens to be wee morning hours of Tuesday instead of a Sunday afternoon, at least in the timezone where, according to Alexa, the most of I-M.net’s readers are. The reasons were elections, waiting for the main thing for this update (I’m not telling you which is the main thing here, you will have to take a wild guess…) and such. But here it is, here it is. Also, sixth version of the site is on the way. I am not exactly sure when it will be up, but I’m sure that it’s NOT going to support 800×600 screen resolution and that some things will be clearer. So, expect it in the next month or so.
Here’s a brief summary of updates. Click “continue reading” for more.
- Three new complete magazine scans, one from 1998 and two from 2004, as well as some of random cuttings from 2006 and 2004
- One re-capped set of stills with two subsets
- One new magazine article
Magazine scans
2004 gallery has been updated and here’s what’s new:
– Le Soleil, 17th July 2004 – the article from a French-Canadian newspaper has been online ever since the first days of Invisible Movement, but now it’s also available in its original form.
– Q, June 2004 – a rather interesting retrospective of RHCP’s shows held in London, before the three legendary Hyde Park gigs took place that month.
– There are two CD/DVD ads in the mix.
1998 gallery has finally been created and there are two items in it:
– The mix, featuring a half of a poster. Just that for now.
– Kerrang!, 11th July 1998 – an excellent article about two gigs that marked John’s comeback after a six-year-long abscence from the public eye; the warm-up gig and the short performance at the second day of TibertFreedom Festival ’98. The heartwarming story of how it felt as if the maestro was never away, stories of fans’ who attended the all-of-sudden warmup, how a girl got struck by a lightning the day before, how Pearl Jam gave up on their encore just so RHCP could play and more. An excellent read, wonderful photos. Many thanks to Gizem once again.
There’s also a little scan of a magazine cover in the 2006 mix.
Screencaps
What Hits DVD – performance part (124 stills) was done by Flavia, the rest (63 stills) by me.
Magazine articles
The infamous Q Magazine interview from June 2002 is online. That’s the one where errr… John confused certain two buildings (RIP) with a certain other building.
