Site updates, 13th June 2008
You might notice that it has been a while since the most recent update. Well, the period between updates is usually a week, but it all depends on the other things that need to be done, as well as the status of some things included in the update, so…let’s say that this update was delayed for right reasons. And I hope you will enjoy it, as it contains something many people asked for; and, amongst other things, an almost 11-year-old set of magazine scans. Sometimes it’s interesting to take a different view at things and remember how all is relative. You’ll have to read the details of this update to solve this little riddle.
(And updating on Friday the 13th is amusing, anyway!)
- Four new sets of magazine scans, from 2007, 2004, 2000 and 1997 (!)
- One of the 2004 magazines has been re-scanned
- One new set of screencaps/stills
- More album cover scans
- Green Fest audio in mp3
- One new magazine article
- One new fan-made wallpaper
Magazine scans
Thanks to Gizem (aka the magazine slayer) here’s something nice: scans of the May 2004 issue of Guitar and a photo special on RHCP’s Californication tour dates in Australia, from the 26th February 2000 issue of Kerrang; and the Turkish edition of Rolling Stone, July 2007 issue.
The remaining magazine is something I cannot remember seeing on the internet in its entiety, other than in the text format – Guitar Player from November 1997. I dug it out and you can have a look at it here. The article is very moving.
Scans of the October/November 2004 issue of Magnet Magazine have been improved as I got my hands on the copy at last and you’re free to look at them again. The text is more readable now and both of the photographs are clearer.
Screencaps/stills
Thanks to Flavia, a new set of screencaps from the 2006 RHCP performance for Fuse has been added to the gallery and you can see it here.
(More) album cover scans
Scans of the Taste The Pain picture disk cover and the third Higher Ground LP’s front cover have been added to the appropriate location.
Live audio
Finally, behold RHCP’s Green Fest performance, minus three non-broadcasted songs, as mp3. Many thanks to Zac who managed to do this by adjucting the quality of the audio. Click here to get your hands on it.
