Site updates, 23rd June 2008
Some may have the first day of summer, some may have the first day of winter yesterday; but regardless of the hemisphere you live in, these updates are not going to appear upside-down.
To people who understand the importance of the other little banner: a link to the Italian charity has been added (thank you, Stefano!). If you have time to save someone’s life, do it. Someone might be thankful to you forever.

System update
Errr…qua?
The system that powers this website has been updated, due to the recent robot attacks. If the site was extremely slow for you earlier on 23rd June, it’s because I was upgrading it. If it’s slow now, then it’s an ongoing problem with the database servers that needs to be solved and I’m on the task.
Live photos
It’s definitely been a while in terms of putting concert photos up. So, here’s something to change that: a couple of sets of RHCP concert photos from 2007, taken by a long-term site contributor, Stuart Byrne:

23rd August 2007; Hampden Park, Glasgow
Overall, there are 40 photos, taken from unusual angles. A couple of those, especially from the Polish show, are totally amazing. Make sure you check them all carefully.
Magazine scans
Metal Forces, November 1991 – This is from the period Anthony talks about in Scar Tissue, when he and John went from USA to Europe to do press stuff for BloodSugarSexMagik and John quit at some point.
Rockin’ On, April 2001 – This one is in Japanese and it’s a short review of John’s solo show in New York City, with a black & white photo on top of the page.
Canadian Musician, May 2001 – This article has an unusual approach. James Black of Finger Eleven got to interview John at the hotel room in Toronto sometime in mid-February 2001 and he took it very seriously. This has been on the site before, but not in the visual form.
Guitar, March 2001 – A beautiful article published after TROWFTD was released, where John talks about seeing music as colour and where the feelings come from. One of the best reads from that period of time.

Font update
Joe of Joebob.nl was so kind to inform everyone that he’d updated his famous fruscianteHand font, with numbers and the most of the extended Latin alphabet characters. You can download the updated version of the font here or on the author’s website; where, by the way, you can find a bunch of other wonderful fonts, some free and some you can buy.
