Tony Woolliscroft’s RHCP photo book out soon
Tony Woolliscroft’s Me And My Friends, which sounds as an amazing photography book capturing the years the Brit spent photographing the Red Hots, is out soon as it can be preordered on Amazon. The official review and the cover image are below, and this review is interesting, to say the least.
Although, at this point, this book is not strictly official it has the backing of the band members who have been close friends with the photographer, Tony Woolliscroft, for years. His work will also be known to fans around the world as it has featured on multi-million album covers such as Californication etc. Tony has travelled the world with the Chili Peppers since 1990 and has ‘crashed’ in their hotel rooms etc while on tour. This book will not just be focused on amazing photography but the personal stories behind each picture, packed with unheard anecdotes and a genuine insight to the band not just through Tony’s lens, but through Tony’s eyes. Drummer Chad Smith says: “Most photographers only are allowed to shoot the first three songs of a show. We love Tony and his work so much that he is the only guy we give complete access to for an entire show. That’s how much we trust him. But you’ll be able to see that trust going through this book. His images makes you feel like you’re there. Like any true artist, and much like our band, he keeps searching and trying to learn more about his craft. He has grown with us.
