Vote for John in The Axe Factor poll for the best guitarist of last 30 years
According to the BBC’s radio 6, contemporary guitar players are often overlooked in most of the existing polls for the world’s greatest axemen. Therefore, they have come up with a poll to determine who are the greatest guitarists of the last 30 years – from 1980 to 2010.
Click here to go to the voting page! There are 40 people you can vote for and, as expected, John is one of them. Scroll down to somewhere in the middle of the list, check the checkbox next to his name, scroll to the bottom and hit the black button that says “vote”. If everything went well, you’ll even get a little code to put on your website, Myspace profile or any other web profile that supports HTML on the next page.
You have until the midnight British time on the 01st of April to vote and Steve Lamacq, one of the radio’s presenters, will reveal the results in a special show on Friday, 09th of April. Make sure you vote moderately, so our votes would be counted.
In addition to all this, BBC have put up a nice little page on each of the guitarists (Invisible Movement is the only unofficial website and the only actual complete website mentioned on the page they put up on John!), so make sure you look at that as well.
Many thanks to Rebecca of The Chili Source for the heads-up!
UPDATE: While I am always skeptic of this kind of promotion (especially given that many guitarists from the country that holds the poll are on the list), perhaps it helps – our friend Colin created a Facebook group to get people to vote for John in BBC’s The Axe Factor poll. Feel free to join! And remember, you can vote every …now and then, but if you do anything to vote TOO MUCH, they can probably see through it, substract a bunch of votes and that is not what we want, right? And don’t get obsessive.
