Omar & John collab album – now in stereo, please re-download
There was a lot of positive vibes and nice comments surrounding the release of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and John Frusciante free album. However, some people with good ear had discovered that the album was offered as a mono, rather than a stereo download. While that didn’t stop most of the listeners from eagerly giving it a go, the nice people from Sargent House/Rodriguez-Lopez Productions said that they’re working on the problem.
So, after a short outage, the album is available for download again, as it was said on the Rodriguez-Lopez productions’ blog. Please, be kind and don’t upload it elsewhere, as it was stated in the previous post, so the label(s) and the service provider could have their stats done right. If you’re having any issues, check the previous post.
Since some people asked about the charity itself, this was the response I got from Sargent House.
Hello, I was just wondering if there’s an exact link to the Keep Music In Schools charity, so I could include it on my website. Thank you very much in advance and thanks for releasing this.
There are many organizations connected to the Music in Schools Program. We will be donating money to those that we feel are doing the most immediate and direct things i.e. providing instruments etc. But we will be doing to a few of their divisions and I’m even thinking of setting up our own org so we can really choose the way in which we support the right parts. I don’t want to see the money we donate go to buying stamps and paying salaries of charity workers. I want to be able to see it directly effect students. We will be giving out more information once we donate the first round of money.
And this was the question and answer more or less explaining why else this is free.
Thanks so much for being quick in uploading ORL & JF after receiving it. I apologize for our incessant needs, but I for one am grateful. Any info on when this was recorded? When the “0=2” single was released in 2005, it was said to be recorded in 2003.
The Omar & John thing is super old, another reason they just didn’t want to sell it because it really was just love amongst two friends and musicians playing together – I’m so glad it can be released and raise awareness and money for a great cause instead. I don’t have exact dates on each song but yes a long time ago it was done.
Despite this, according to other answers, it appears there still is a change for this to end up on a vinyl.
Everything else you probably want to know is in the previous posts, you should comment on that one, too, as there’s no point having the conversation on the same subject going on in two different news items’ comments. Therefore, comments on this post are closed.
Many thanks to pehjott and Petra for having been so diligent and helpful on this issue.
Many thanks to the label(s) for having been kind, patient and cooperative regarding this.
