Omar Rodriguez Lopez & John Frusciante collab album is out!
After a not-so-long-wait (if anyone thinks that was long, they should read how long fallout of uranium and plutonium takes), Omar Rodriguez-Lopez’s collaboration with John is out via Sargent House/Rodriguez-Lopez Productions. There are seven track and, the elusive 0 and 0=2 have been released, too…so if you never got the November 2005 Goldstar Labs doughnut special edition vinyl, do not despair.
You can get the album in a variety of bitrates and file types at the download page for Omar Rodriguez Lopez & John Frusciante. Basically, the album is FREE to download and you can enter 0 as its price, but you could also be nice and make a donation to Keep Music In Schools. In fact, if you’re able to and if that’s your country, you absolutely should. Please, also note that you won’t be able to download the album if you enter a bogus email address, as an unique download link will be provided to you via email. You will also be subscribed to the Rodriguez-Lopez Productions emailing list.
You can listen to all the tracks below as well, if you’re currently not in a place where you can download or if you would like to discuss them with the other site viewers.

Know what else is awesome? Bandcamp, where the files are hosted, is a very high-end website and you can share a Flash widget with all the songs on the album almost everywhere on the internet. So, why not go and do it and spread good music?
Many thanks to Gili Gordon who woke up to this news first and kindly sent it to Invisible Movement – shalom!
And of course, many thanks to the REAL musicians for releasing their music this way. Having said that, please do respect the release. Do not change the ID3 tags to remove one of the performers, do not offer the file as a download elsewhere. Bandcamp and the label are probably more than interested in knowing how many times this was snatched.
Need any help?
If you cannot obtain the files because your internet mail provider is scrambling the links in incoming mails from what they think are unsolicited sources, you might want to check your security settings. If it still does not work, let me know and I’ll help you. Everyone else – do not post links to downloads on file sharing sites, as it could cause the lazy people who technically can get it from the right place to mess up the stats as well.
If you don’t know how to open a .zip folder, make sure you saved it to your computer first and then use a built-in compressed files’ decompressing utility that both Windows [XP and beyond]and Mac (probably Linux, too) platforms have or download a shareware program such as WinRar. Once done, you should have one .jpg image and seven music files in your preferred format. You might require a codec pack to play certain file types.
If you still cannot open the .zip archive, your download probably got corrupted at some point or you’re behind a workplace/educational institution firewall. Try again.
