Red Hot Chili Peppers,  TV and radio alerts

Achtung! Rock am Ring 2004 on TV tonight, in its entiety!

German TV WDR will air the FULL-LENGTH (so they say) Red Hot Chili Peppers set from the 2004 Rock am Ring Festival, held on the 05th June that year at the Nürburgring. This will be shown as a part of their regular show, Rockpalast, which has also shown some other RHCP concerts in the past.

How to get WDR
For the setlist, click here – amongst other songs, it includes a cover of Looking Glass’ Brandy, an unreleased song commonly referred to as Mini-Epic and a cover of 45Grave’s Black Cross.

Now, to spice it up and warm up for the occasion, here are THREE solo songs John sung that night (which was very common in June 2004) – covers of Cat Stevens’ Hard-Headed Woman, Elton John’s Tiny Dancer and The Clash’s Guns Of Brixton. Many thanks to our ever-so-wonderful friend Henrik, who’s sent them in as a totally unexpected surprise earlier today, in addition to numerous contributions he’s made to the site throughout the years.

You can listen to the individual files in this impromptu music player, or download them at the 2004 archive page.

UPDATE: You can download audio of the whole show, once again thanks to our awesome friend Henrik. Everything’s packed in a 124 MB archive (once again, to open archives, you need to install a program such as WinRar and the total length of the files together is 1:29:33.

UPDATE NO ZWEI: Here are some videos, ripped off a Demonoid torrent of the event. The whole torrent is in a rather exotic format, albeit of good quality…however, I’d wait for a DVD if I were you. Until then, I’ll try to bring you as many Flash video files as I can – starting with Tiny Dancer and Hard-Headed Woman.
