John mentioned in 60-year anniversary of Fender Stratocaster feature
This year, Fender Stratocaster turns 60. As a part of the celebration, they have compiled a timeline of the significant pieces of music created using the guitar and they have listed important Strat players from 1954 to 2014. Naturally, John is included and in the timeline, he’s at the year 1999.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication is released in June. It marks the return of Stratocaster-wielding guitarist John Frusciante and remains the band’s most successful studio album, with hits including the title track, “Scar Tissue†and “Otherside.â€
You can use the hashtag #STRAT60 to post any Strat-related links, opinion and memories on Twitter and it will be included on the celebration feature page, which you can see here.
Also, feel free to share links to your favourite performances of the forementioned songs (despite one of them *ahem* not even using a Fender Guitar?!) or any other song you think is more remarkable. You can post videos in comments, too.
*Many thanks to Tom for the news.
