KKK – Three ks = Fair
Another month, another John Frusciante solo album.
IT WAS always an honourable intention to release an album a month, but the worry was that the quality would inevitably have to suffer. So it is with “Inside Of Emptiness”. There are some brilliant songs on here, some that not only show you the inner workings of a deeply talented and troubled man but also allow you into the guts of the Chili Peppers, giving you access to their drawing board. Some, howevere, have simply not been worked on hard enough – they’re just one idea dragged out for several long minutes, only enlightened by Frusciante’s guitar solos, which are uniformaly stunning. It’s all desperatly lo-fi. Worth the money, if only because this is the Chili Peppers’ heart exposed bare.
