Although the title of this album, Will to Death might convince you otherwise, this is in fact the most uplifting, and yes, most normal record by Frusciante so far.
On tour with the Chili Peppers he proved himself an outstanding singer: and sang a great cover, originally by Pink Floyd. He continues this on Will To Death. Apparently, this one record will be followed up by several more. No doubt Frusciante will show us more of his experimental side. This is pure pop music, however. But still: those mindblowing guitar solos, the angelic chants and the touching compositions are impressive.
