For them who aren’t counting anymore: episode four and five in the series of six little solo albums from the hyperactive Red Hot Chili Peppers-guitarist this year – a follow up to his high profile -masterpiece Shadows Collide With People. Number six Curtains will follow in December. We skipped number three, the not very striking DC EP: four songs, recorded in Washington DC with producer and Fugazi-frontman Ian MacKaye. Inside of Emptiness is another satisfying episode and connects with the first CD, The Will To Death. Elementary guitar songs, full of emotion, sometimes pretty cynical and dark, for where he was inspired by magician Aleister Crowley. The result is not hard to listen to in any way: those who loved Shadows Collide With People and The Will To Death (like myself), can easily add Inside of Emptiness.
