Site updates – 09th March 2009
Wow, at last: a “classic” update. Some of these things were meant to be parts of the last update in 2008, but they didn’t make it to it. Things got busy and the computer associated with this website graced the floor with a bunch of droppings three times in two months until it ended up retired. And January & Febuary were more dynamic than ever expected and that’s why a “classic” site update did not take place – though you probably noticed there were many updated along the way.
So, here they are, bits and pieces of the first update in 2009. Enormously long, that is. There’s a lot to read, there’s a lot to see and there’ll be more soon. Post scriptum: yes, there was a little problem with the gallery – ads & such, fanart, magazine covers and some of the older live photos were accidentally wiped off on Thursday – they’re back now and being recaptioned as you’re reading this. I apologise for the inconvinience.

GLOBAL update!
Even a year and a half after it was started, the GLOBAL project is still going on. On this occasion, I’m presenting you a Bulgarian translation of Invisible Movement by Christina Vladimirova and the third, more literature-like Dutch one by Lisette Beer.
Tabs, tabs, tabs!
For everyone who missed it…I’m excited to announce that one of the locked-out sections of Invisible Movement finally has some content on it. Gear and tabs now contains tabs for three most recent of John’s efforts: The Empyrean, Ataxia’s AWII and Curtains. The first is a team work effort, the second one is the work of Dennix and the third would be an incredible tab book by Tyler Murphy and a couple of tabs by other people. This section is growing so, if you want to help, go to the workshop forum. The first goal is to list gear and tabs for all the solo albums. And then? Well, we’ll see.
For those who have seen The Empyrean tabs before, I just want to let you know that Fruvai’s tabs to Before The Beginning and God have been updated.
Book scans
14 more items have been added to the collection of Me And My Friends scans. One or two more site updates and that should be it. ^_^
Magazine scans
The magazine (dark) fairy has been busy and she was even so cool to scan some magazines we both bought, given that my scanner and my new computer don’t like each other as of now. So, all the following five sets have been brought to us by Gizem, who deserves an enormous thanks for it!
Guitar Part, July/August 1999 – a short interview with John during the Cali tour.
Guitar Part, September 1999 – a story of all RHCP guitarists and both guitar and bass tabs for Californication.
Charts, March 2000 – a short article on RHCP history, in order to remind people of the band’s antics before their concert.
Ooor, 08th June 2000 – a translation of the Rolling Stone interview from 27th April of the same year.
Guitar Part, April 2001 – an interview with John after the release of TROWFTD, and tabs for Otherside.
Also, two more pages have been added to the Guitarist, March 2009 set. Sorry for the error!
I have also moved January 2009 Vogue Italy scan to the gallery, so it would be easier to find.
Given that four out of five new articles are in French, volunteer checklist was updated. If you’re good in both French and English, please do consider helping out.
And, given that there were two new magazine covers recently, the gallery of magazine covers has been updated as well.
Other scans
Thanks to J.N. who bought it on an auction and was enormously kind to randomly write to me and send me a HQ scan, the handwritten lyrics to Mascara are now available in a much, much better quality. Click here.

A modest collection of screencaps from the 1991 Peace Choir video is up.

MuchMusic Argentina interview, 2001 – thanks to Leni.
For those who missed it, check out the transcript of 27th January’s edition of The Watt from Pedro Show, featuring John and Josh.
More lyrics transcribed
Leni was so kind to transcribe Ten To Butter Blood Voodoo, Nigger Song, Untitled #12, More and I May Again Know John; and Eliot Cain transcribed Enter A Uh. There are only a couple more untranscribed songs…if you spot them and want to give them a go, shout.
JF’s quotes on other musicians
A nice quote from the Beatles’ museum has been added.
Traditional art pieces
Two drawings by Jonna – one in pencil and one in watercolour and two pieces by Joe. Have a look at them!
New cover songs by readers
These were submitted to the site in 2007 and, for a bunch of different reasons, they’re being put here only now. So, give a listen to Mezmetize’s cover of The Days Have Turned and Karolis’ cover of Representing at the covers’ page.
New readers’ videos
Two more unofficial music videos by a reader has been added to the site. Go to the videos page to see how George Upton directed a video for For Air. Central by Andreas Yngvesson/BaconDude, which has been featured on the front page a month ago is also there.
New links to readers’ music pages
Readers’ music pages directory has been updated. Please, do check out Blackfriars, Dizzy Deegz & DJ Andy, Dzork, Silence Through The Rain and Zube Sultana.
