This is an exclusive sent to Invisible Movement thanks to the kind people from the Sneak Attack media: a 47-seconds clip of the 45 minute bonus interview with John on The Heart Is A Drum Machine DVD. And yes, 45 minutes, not 25 as previously said (many thanks to Tom who first pointed out this important difference).

Here's what John says in this excerpt, as transcribed by Chili_Pat (slightly corrected by Chris G and Jen):

"The thing that, the thing that makes it possible for one person to be in the right place at the right time in their life to create the things that they create... It has to do with a really complex, ehm, structure of the mind and the soul, and, and, and the nervous system and everything. Eh. All these unknown things that are taking place in a subconscious which, which can be just as much structure by terrible things as it can by good, you know. A person could be nothing but abused and put down their whole life and for whatever reason their, their will to, to live, their, their love for music, their, their feeling for music, ehm, and, and, and all, and all all the fucked up things that have happened to them, all, eh, all combine to make perfection."

And another FYI: Netflix version of the film DOES NOT contain the bonus features and therefore, you need the DVD to watch the interview. So, if you didn't get the DVD yet, I assume you're convinced now, order it here and support creative releases of its kind.

While we're at it, a couple of sites published their reviews of the film:
Exclaim.ca review
Twenty Four Bit review
The Playlist review
The Round Table online review
Wired review

If you know of any more reviews, do tell. And enjoy the video clip!

    Eh.

All these annoying things that are taking place in a subconscious which, which can be just as much structure by terrible things as it can by good, you know.

A person could be nothing but abused and put down their whole life and for whatever reason their, their will to, to live, their, their love for music, their, their feeling for music, ehm, and, and, and all, and all the things that are happen to them, all, eh, all combine to make perfection."

I hope, it's correct. It mady my day...hand in hand with "Here, Air" :-)

    • Chris G says:

      "annoying" should be "unknown".

      Also makes more sense :D

      • Chili_Pat says:

        Hey Chris,

I think you're right. I listen to it again and "unknown" works really better than "annoying". But it makes in an abstract way sense in both ways.

And Iva: Thanks for posting my transcription under the video. I'm feeling very honored :-)

        • Jen says:

actually at the end he says "all the F'd up things that have happened", but it is edited out.

          • Iva says:

Thanks for spotting the error. I didn't even look at what I copied and pasted...had a busy day. >_<

Also, thanks to Chris for spotting the other one.

          • Chili_Pat says:

Thanks, I couldn't figured it out. But a John interview without a fuck? That's impossible :>
Iva, it should be: "ehm, and, and, and all, and all the fucked up things" not "ehm, and, and, and all, and all all the fucked up things" - there's one "all" to much :-) I know, I suck, but I want it perfect! :-b
