The Heart Is A Drum Machine DVD out today & competition winner
The day has come – the critically acclaimed documentary on music, The Heart Is A Drum Machine is out internationally. Some reviews have started appearing around the internet as well, so please do drop a line if you’ve seen a good one. In addition to all this, new screenings of the non-DVD version are being scheduled and you can now add the film to your queue on Netflix. For more updates of this kind, follow the film on Twitter and/or become its fan on Facebook. There’s a screening tomorrow for those of you who are in Hollywood.
If you have not pre-oredered the film on DVD yet, as said before, it contains a 25-minute interview with John instead of the abbreviated one featured in the version that’s shown in movie theatres and there’s also a performance of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” done by Maynard James Keenan of Tool. Preorder the DVD here.
Also, the time has come to announce the winner of the DVD competition.
62 people entered the competition and 60 of the entries were valid, while the remaining two were obviously spam. Asked to answer the same question as the one in The Heart Is A Drum Machine, “what is music?”, the visitors of Invisible Movement have come up with incredibly insightful answers, even though only any on-topic entry would’ve brought them a chance to participate.
I have put all the 60 names on little pieces of paper and put them inside of an “Under The Bridge-style hat” (that one wasn’t a joke) and I asked someone from my household to pull one of the names out. In the following video, you’ll see how the whole thing went and you’ll see how the winning entry was pulled out of the hat!
The winning participant is from Germany and here’s how they responded to the question:
Music is the language of the soul, not everybody speaks it well, but everyone understands it.
Congratulations to Thai N. aka Phunkymonks, who has been emailed to supply their data, so it can be forwarded to Sneak Attack media in order for their DVD to be sent to them as soon as possible. Congratulations to everyone else as well, this was impressive and it has definitely spun-off a new idea where the oldschool Saturday questions could turn into monthly contests. What do you all think about this?
